World’s largest Independent water and power plant owned by world’s largest power generation organization ENGIE. The plant has power generation capacity of 2700 MW and can produce 800, 000 cubic meters per day of desalinated water. GE 7FA gas turbines, Doosan HRSGs, and Multi Effect Desalination units (MEDs) are the basic technology of this combined cycle power plant.
Asset Management through
o Development of HRSG Life Assessment plan. Implementation of Stage based approach on HRSGs.
o Develop written scheme of examinations for all pressure system for Marafiq IWPP.
o High Pressure and High Temperature Threaded Fasteners Management
o High Temperature and High Pressure Piping Inspection Plans
Outage and CSA Management through
o Coordination with GE CSA team on site for routine inspections (Combustion, Hot Gas Path, Major). Implementing TILs and recommended modifications (COP modification).
o Maintain Quality Control for all routine and outage activities in the plant.
o Set-up of long term outage planning for Desalination and Power.
Reliability & Availability optimization through
o Analyze, assess and optimize all critical plant systems in order to maximize reliability, availability with minimum life-cycle costs.
o Analysis of Incident reports, performing RCAs, providing Engineering recommendations and implementation of follow up actions.
o Monitor, analyze and keep track on all condition monitoring and legislative equipment tests.
o Diagnose and resolve plant systems operating problems.
o Lead Root Cause Analysis as a process for plant Issues.
o Be aware of any OEM equipment modernization and/or upgrade.
Condition Monitoring Strategy Development including Criticality Analysis.
Training Mechanical Team as Plant Inspectors and Vibration Analysts.
Review of equipment overhauling plan as cost optimization.
Implementation of Algorithms to improve the Condition Monitoring Process.
Reviewing existing capabilities of the Condition Monitoring Section and procuring necessary tools to ensure that no work was outsourced in the future.
Training plan for Condition Monitoring Technicians.
Lal Pir Power is a Rankine Cycle Power Plant housing Pakistan’s Largest Steam Turbine. Lal Pir has 2 Steam Turbines with gross capacity of 365 MW each and Furnace Oil Fired Boilers with capacity of 1200 ton/hr. Lal Pir also has its own Water Treatment Plants, which treats Canal and Well Water by Reverse Osmosis.
Carrying out extensive analysis on the vibration data collected to diagnose / troubleshoot rotating machinery problems and recommend remedial measures.
Maintaining all condition monitoring tools / instruments as per the guidelines and also performed routine in-house checking.
Building of condition monitoring database in the software, scheduling routes for new equipment as situation arose.
Arranging for Lube oil analysis of critical rotating equipment and analyzed / recommend remedial measures from the reports.
Monthly, annual outage, major outage report writing.
Tube Leakage rectification of 1200 ton/hr Steam Generator (Boiler).
Coordinating third party inspection of Plant Assets..
Routine Maintenance Planning & progress monitoring.
Developing & monitoring maintenance plans in 2X (CMMS) while switching CMMS from MainSaver to 2X.
Generating monthly reports for Maintenance Department.
Responsible for planning the training program & reviewing the progress of the fresh graduates & interns.
