I was an independent contractor offering maintenance services for the first of its kind in the world green ammonia modular facility. This involved planning & implementation of maintenance strategies for the assets used in green hydrogen and green ammonia production. I was a key on site technical supporter of the engineering team in the deployment of additional assets to the facility as designs were rolled out into the facility. My duties also involved continuous improvement and monitoring as well as trouble shooting equipment failures and implementing corrective actions. I was successful and maintained zero lost time injury during all my services and was mindful of costs at all times as I engaged with suppliers and vendors. I provided weekly technical reports and updates on site status to the stakeholders including direct reports to the chief operations officer.
• Onsite projects execution support for the EPC team valued at approximately USD 350, 000 in the year 2022.
• Collaboration with stakeholders in quality, production and safety teams to deliver on projects that improved overall performance.
• Sizing, sourcing, installation & commissioning of a 25, 000 liter/hour UV unit for the borehole water at site.
• Successful sourcing, installation, and commissioning of a hydraulic weighing scale onto a production forklift thus reducing reliance on a floor mounted 5-ton scale. Decreasing production cycle time as a result.
• Successful selection, installation and commissioning of a tractor driven windrow turner from Austria for compost production.
• Saved costs for the organization by sourcing and machining HARDOX 400 wear plates locally for the repair of heavy plant machinery cutting blades used in our processes.
• Successful local fabrication, installation, and commissioning of a 1.2 ton hydraulically actuated forklift bucket to optimize feed loading operations of the facility.
• I led the mechanical plumbing scope for a large site-based staff canteen able to accommodate up to 200 persons at a time.
• I coordinated work streams & activities between the in-house engineering team, contractors & vendors.
• As a lead project lead, I was able to successfully trouble-shoot & determine the cause of the site borehole water supply shortage and lead the support of a vendor to rehabilitate the borehole. This ensured operation could return to full capacity.
• Led the successful retrofit of several 21ft containers into warehousing space.
I offered engineering support as a business partner to the largest tea plantation in Africa. My role was to support 8 tea production factories and multiple tea estates/plantations to meet engineering targets and deploy engineering CAPEX projects. I was involved in multiple projects across the board of the organization from manufacturing engineering to maintenance of infrastructure and assets.
