* Perform all on stream and off stream (shutdown) activities in the plant for stationary equipment
(vessels, tanks and heat exchangers), piping system, pressure relieving devices, structure, etc, by
assessing deterioration mechanisms, corrosion monitoring and investigation of failure to
establish inspection frequencies and/or corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
* Perform necessary QA/QC activities since material & receiving and checking in ware house.
* Evaluate the result of all visual inspection and NDT data and determining the most optimal cost
effective repair method and issue an inspection report outlining the repair and QA/QC steps.
* Prepare welding procedure specification WPS for new welding or modification
* Prepare and witness inspection activities for static and rotating equipment during installation.
* Prepare material specs for repairs and new modifications.
* Prepare inspection procedure and inspection check lists for static equipment.
* Carry out quality assurance and quality control activities of welding repairs and new fabrication
of static equipments, piping and lifting equipment and verify the post weld heat treatment has
been done satisfactory.
* Ensure that all unit equipment and piping records are updated and entered into a computer data
base.
* Coordinate with NDT groups after determining the appropriate NDT applicable to assess the
equipment condition.
* Review the metallurgical analysis report.
* Conduct preliminary failure analysis to define the potential causes of failure and participate with
third party failure analysis workshops.
* Supervise pneumatic & hydrostatic and leak test for piping, tanks and pressure vessels.
* Prepare job list for shutdown Testing and Inspection (T&I) requirements for all equipment and
piping circuits and participate to finalize the T&I scope of work.
* Use effectively the industry practice s and codes particularly with ASTM material standards,
ASME, API 510, 570, NACE and AWS.
* Reviewing temperature measurement obtained by pyrometer and thermographic camera for
reformer tubes to determine hot and cold zones (N.B. hold a training certificate from Jonson
Matty for using the pyrometer).
* Determining unknown material using alloy analyzer and issuing analysis report.
* Selecting and applying of appropriate type of cold welding products to be used in repair
procedures.
* Duties included witnessing and approving of WPS, Welders tests, review of RT films and
witness other NDT. Review test packages, witness Hydro tests and prepare punch lists.
* Qualification of the WPS and welders in accordance with project codes, standards and
specifications. Performing visual inspection, dimension check, fabrication &erection for steel
structure pipe spools, vessels &equipment. Control of the welding/ repair activities.
* Have gained, during this last period an intensive experience in qualifying welding procedures
for Low Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Low Temperature Carbon Steel, and duplex, High Carbon
Stainless, Chromium/Molybdenum Steel using SMAW, GTAW.
* Applying all QA/QC activities related to painting activities (temperature measurements, relative
humidity, wet film & dry film thickness measurements, etc).

* Applying & witnessing spark test for rubber lined vessels according to required code.
* Applying & witnessing cathodic protection regular system check-up using half-cell.
