Led QA/QC activities for a 100, 000 m³/day (expandable to 200, 000 m³/day) desalination plant including marine intake towers, 4.2 km intake pipeline, and 3.2 km brine outfall.

Directed inspection and testing for civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works covering seawater pumping station, sand filter complex (20 filters), chemical dosing, RO trains, and post-treatment systems.

Developed and enforced Project Quality Plan, ITPs, method statements, and material approvals in full compliance with ISO 9001, project specifications, and SONEDE requirements.

Coordinated vendor qualification and third-party inspections; managed NCRs, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions to maintain zero major non-conformities.

Achieved a Quality Achievement Award from the client for proactive quality control and timely delivery of QA/QC documentation.

QC Manager - Metito Overseas Limited, Egypt (May 2017 - Feb 2024)
Directed QA/QC programs for major Metito-Orascom Joint-Venture SWRO desalination plants—El Galalah (150, 000 m³/day), East Port Said (150, 000 m³/day), and Al Arish (100, 000 m³/day expandable to 300, 000 m³/day)—ensuring ISO 9001 compliance and full adherence to project specifications from construction through commissioning and handover. Also managed corporate quality systems and documentation at Metito Head Office, Giza.

Main Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of quality documentation, including the Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and in the review of construction documents for compliance with project quality requirements related to Mechanical works.

• Monitors all phases and processes required for the effective completion of all related Mechanical works and in particular issues of design, procurement, construction, and final hand over of the related Mechanical works.

• Monitors the implementation of Method Statements, and, Inspection & Test Plans related to Mechanical works, and ensures all necessary records are generated in a timely manner in their area of assigned responsibility.

• Manages the inspection and testing of Mechanical works in their area of assigned responsibilities, including monitoring the work of QC Inspectors under their authority.

• Monitors the close out of punch lists established for incomplete related to Mechanical works.

• Monitors all measurement & testing instruments employed for Mechanical works, that they are functional and calibrated.

• Liaises and coordinates with 3rd Party Testing /Inspection Company as required related to Mechanical works.

• Statistical analysis and evaluation of test data related to Mechanical works.

• Prepares, files, maintains test/inspection records and any other quality records generated related to Mechanical works.

• Assisting construction personnel to identify and resolve problems and potential or actual non-conformance related to Mechanical works.

• Advises the QC Manager of non-conformance occurrences and where necessary, raises a Non-conformance Report for non-compliant work, and monitors the closeout and effectiveness of the correction and corrective action undertaken.

• Where required, assists the QC Manager in undertaking periodic audits, including those of subcontractors and suppliers, in particular technical compliance audits in their field of specialization.

• Where required, assists in the preparation of final document for certification.

Scope : The project includes the reconstruction, completion and maintenance of 4, 700m long North-West
Rubble Breakwater and the reconstruction and extension of main harbour road. The main items of work comprise:

• Construction of a rubble-mound-extend berm in front of the existing breakwater, including the roundhead together with the associated armoring, consisting of rock and pre-cast concrete cubes.

• Construction of a new primary armor layer of Acropode units together with the associated secondary armoring of rock on the slope.

• Construction of an open canal filled with rock behind the existing parapet structure.

• Reconstruction and strengthening of the parapet structure.

• Reconstruction and extension of the main road and services behind the breakwater.

• Construction of the planned sewerage outfall through the breakwater.

Project : Qatalum Jetty and Seawater Intake, Messaieed, Qatar - (Jun 2008 - Aug 2009)

Scope : The project included the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of the Import Jetty and the Seawater Intake system for Qatalum Plant within the Mesaieed Industrial City.

Duties:

Mointor the fabrication and welding of 96 pile diameter 48 inch using Submerged Arc Welding and NDT.

Project : LNG Berth No. 5, Ras Laffan, Qatar (Oct 2006 - Jun 2008)
Client : Chiyoda - Technip Joint Venture (CTJV)
Scope : The project included the Procurement and Construction of the Marine and Civil Works for LNG
Berth 5, as part of Qatar Gas II Development Project. The main items of work comprise:

• Berth abutment (causeway connecting to Berth 5 platform with the existing breakwater).
• Four Breasting dolphins equipped with fenders and quick release hooks (double) with capstan.
• Eight Mooring dolphins equipped with quick release hooks (quadruple) and capstan.
• Catwalks connect all dolphins to the platform.
• Berth 5 Marine Flare Support Structure.

Project : Benghazi North combined cycle Power Plant (Aug 2005- Sep 2006)
Client : Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., LTD.
Scope :The project included dredging, intake pipeline and head structure installation for the Benghazi
north combined cycle power plant. The main items of work comprise:

• Dredging of pipe trench from +2.0m to -19.13m, disposal of dredged material and backfilling of pipelines.

• Installation of three rows of 2800mm dia. GRP pipes in a seabed trench extended up to 1 Km from the shoreline including connection to the onshore intake basin.

• Installation of three pre-cast intake structures.

• Placing armour stone and rock blanket in sea trench around the intake structure.

QC Engineer - Archirodon, Idku, Egypt (Jan 2005 - Jul 2005)
Handled quality control for the Egyptian LNG Marine Facilities Project, covering dredging of a 4 km channel and turning basin, construction of an 800 m breakwater and a 2.5 km marine jetty, and associated LNG carrier berthing works—ensuring compliance with project specifications and international standards.
