Project 1: Southern Border Infrastructure - Mega program comprises 5 project areas of total 1500 km roads including fences, Fiber optic networks, concertina and guardrails in addition to the sector headquarters, sector compounds, monitor and control border stations, rear gates, and helipads. Budget: SAR 11.5 billion ● Owner: Ministry of Interior (MOI) ● Contractor: Saudi Binladen Group (SBG).

Project 2: Southern Border Housing -Mega program comprises 14 projects of integrated housing complex (with 10, 000 total housing units) including all ancillary buildings and infrastructure works. Budget: SAR 17 billion ● Owner: Ministry of Interior (MOI) ● Contractors: El Seif Engineering Contracting Company (ESEC) & ABV Rock Group (ABV RG).

Job Role
• Management of the planning of projects, ensure that all established schedules and timelines involved in the Program are followed efficiently.
• Working closely with technical experts, heads of departments and project managers in planning, creating, and managing project schedules.
• Responsible for maintaining schedule times, identifying slippages, develop recovery plans.
• Ensuring that the project reporting is carried out in such a manner as to accurately reflect the current status of projects, and those necessary plans and reports are prepared for submission to the relevant management and client.
• Ensures that all the Schedule related Processes, procedures are updated and current along with Progress Reporting Templates. Responsible for development and update of the Construction Norms Database for use in Future Works.
• Attend progress status meetings, review and reply contractors’ submittals that relevant to planning, review and assess the Program Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports and ensure that are consistent and as per the approved procedures.

Achievements
• Analyzed and reviewed the program methodology and guidelines for creating the baseline schedule in order to achieve the contract goals and meet the client requirements.
• Assessed the Baselines for project sites including thousands of activities, relevant assumptions, milestones, manpower and material histograms, WBS, critical paths, network logic etc.
• Improved the process of schedule assessment by creating Excel Macros to deal with hidden defects in primavera schedules. EX: Excel Macro to Detect and Fix Dangling Activities in Time Schedule.

• Assessed tens of claims for EOT request (Extension of Time), reviewed the delay events considering the contract obligations and other entitlements, performed Delay Analysis from the client’s point of view that enabled the client taking the decision based on a reliable assessment of delay.



• Supervised site planners to monitor the actual progress of the project and proactively identify any deviations from the plan.
• Preempted the errors committed during progress assessment by improvising the templates and worksheets provided to site planners for monitoring and controlling purposes.
• Reviewed overall project status in collaboration with the Project Management team to mitigate project delay risk and recommend corrective action wherever necessary.
• Provided periodic reports and presentations to senior management and client regarding the project status.

Key Contributions:
• Led the supporting staff to prepare an effective baseline schedule for 10 housing projects within one programme and provide regular progress reports to client as well as senior management.
• Analysed the project contract, BOQ, drawings, and understood any planning issues to create the
work breakdown structure (WBS) and define the activity list covering all BOQ items, engineering and procurement activities.
• Estimated the original duration of the activities involved and dependencies between them to
develop a detailed time schedule and determined the critical path of the project.
• Coordinated with the procurement department and technical office engineers to create respective
tracking logs linked to the related activities in the primavera schedule.
• Achieved project milestones on time by collaborating with the site managers to resolve any
challenges and providing them with look-ahead schedules to ensure the best usage of resources.
• Updated the progress of work regularly and identified areas of weakness to establish means and methods for recovery if required.
• Developed the project cash flow and resource usage histograms, to avoid project delay, reduce costs and preempt any resource conflicts between sites.
