Al Khor Expressway is one of the largest Infra projects in Qatar with a total cost of 10 Billion QAR. The
project comprises 32Km dual 5‐lane carriageway, 34 km cycling and foot paths, 27 cycling subways,
10 new Interchanges including signalized Junctions, 03 Tunnels, 10 Nos. 11 KV Substations, MV/LV
Network, Ooredoo, QAF & QNBN Network, Utility building, 02 pump stations, Street lighting system,
ITS System, Speed Cameras, Traffic Signals…etc.
Pump Stations, Utility Building and SCADA System.
The 03 Tunnels within Al Khor Expressway project have respectively a total length of 180 and 350 m
have a provision of LED lighting system and its PLC control system for Day/Night lighting, Fire
Fighting System through Electric and Fire Pumps. Storm water drainage through 02 underground
Pump stations with associated water tanks, CCTV system for fire identification and security reasons.
Monitoring and control of Electrical and Mechanical equipment at three Tunnels is achieved through
a SCADA system. The Combined Utility Building is dedicated to accommodate 1000 KVA Substation, a
Standby Generator, Fire Fighting electric and Diesel pumps, UPS system, SCADA and CCTV servers
and a common control room for both SCADA and CCTV systems.
