• Prepare inspection plans and the best practices for In-service, Turnaround, and Shutdown inspection, and share them with my team to eliminate and control damage mechanisms and organize inspection activities.
• Conducted defect’ assessments by using RP API 579 FFS “Fitness for Service” and devised new repair procedures that led to a 40% increase in productivity and 60% decrease in recurrence of the same flaws.
• Share with the taskforce team in failure analysis investigations.
• Control and coordinate the re-rating, alteration activities & maintenance inspection of static equipment.
• Experience in Power Boilers, Utility Boilers, Storage Tanks, Pressure Vessels, Piping, Pressure Relieving Devices, Reformers, Reformer Tubes, and Reactors, Furnaces, Columns, and Heat Exchangers inspection.
• Review the feed Documents for EPC major projects, Pipelines, Piping, Pressure Vessels, Tanks, and RTRP Piping.
• Ensure the integrity of the plant's facilities and equipment with applicable codes, KOC specifications, and design requirements during fabrication/manufacturing (procurement), and installation/construction (projects).
• Recommended a new material selection for piping components that had a frequent damage mechanism, and supported my company to reduce its turnaround interval by 75% and re-schedule the inspection plan.
• Developed the periodic external, internal, and on-stream inspections by 100% for the underground drain piping system by changing the materials from CS to RTRP according to the applicable procedures and company specifications.
• Develop generic and specific Inspection and Test plans “ITP” for external, internal, and on-stream inspections/ testing that help the company to avoid or reduce un-expectable failure and ensure reliable operations.
• Suggested changing the valve trim materials to CRA and satellite faces, which helped in increasing the valves’ remaining life by 60%, and reverted the results with the contract procurement team.
• Investigated a frequent damage mechanism in SDSS materials, and I successfully identified the root cause, and advocated solutions by adding additional tests at the procurement stage to avoid reoccurrence.
• I was a member of Taskforce for initiating the KOC standard for Line pipe materials of flow lines and pipelines and helped the company to release four new Company Standards/Specifications.
• Trained and motivated inspectors to be fully qualified when the company assigns me for the same. However, I used to provide assistance and transfer my experience to them for either site work or document review and reporting.
• Supervise and follow-up installation of new equipment and on repairs proposals of static equipment.
• Perform new project inspection; quality assurance & quality control functions, welding, destructive & non-destructive testing, painting, metallography, construction, pre-commissioning, and manufacturing stage.
• Implement the Safety Task Assessment (STA) before issuing any new tender package to avoid/mitigate potential hazards and associated risks (HAZOP STUDY).
• Evaluated and organized many technical documents for various new projects and provided comments related to engineering, and inspection requirements as per project specifications and code requirements.
• Attend Pre-inspection meetings at the vendor/global manufacturing facilities, and I always have the ability to take action for any problem could raise by the vendor, and I provide answers to any questions raised by the attendees.
