Abu Dhabi Transmission and Despatch Company (TRANSCO) is responsible for the development, operations and maintenance of high-voltage power and bulk water transmission networks within Abu Dhabi and beyond. TRANSCO provides secure, sustainable, economic and reliable transmission networks that connect generation companies to distribution companies, as well as other end-users. TRANSCO is a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA).


TRANSCO’s core business is the planning, construction and operation of a safe, reliable and efficient water and electricity transmission network within Abu Dhabi and, where required, the UAE.

Main Responsibilities
1. Assist in developing and implementing the Asset Performance policies, strategies and procedures (Asset Maintenance Policy, Condition Monitoring, Root Cause Analysis, etc.) and continuously review and update them.
2. Assist in development and design structure of electronic database for assets including Maximo, GIS, and archives for drawings, manuals, and documents.
3. Prepare, update and generate the Maintenance and Operations PM program work orders for Water Division Assets in Maximo system
4. Assist power and water performance engineers by providing them with any information required from other systems (Maximo, GIS, etc.)
5. Develop and effective communication process and Asset Performance reporting system.
6. Data quality management: data entry, verification, and ensuring integration of data with other departments.
7. Assist in development of strategy, policies, and procedures for spare part optimization, and development of framework to automate spare part functions such as ICMR, AWDR, etc.
8. Develop and monitor APD Business Plan & balance score card, benchmarking, KPIs and goal alignment to strategies for continuous improvement.
Main Achievements:
1) Studied and analyzed the stores nonmoving items and recommended the way forward for optimization towards cost saving estimated at minimum 10, 000, 000 dhs.
2) Structured the Water Asset Strategy and Performance (WASP) strategic objectives 3) Prepared a Criticality Assessment Procedure Development and Ranking scope of work towards outsourcing assets criticality ranking as a basis for any asset reliability improvement and cost optimization initiatives. CR has been approved
4) Conducted maintenance strategy and CMMS awareness sessions to maintenance staff towards PM optimization and utilization of most cost-effective maintenance strategies to enhance asset health
5) Studied and highlighted current CMMS (Maximo) system gaps, impact on business and recommended the solutions

ADMA-OPCO is a major oil and gas producer from offshore areas of the UAE and part of ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) group since 1962. ADMA-OPCO produces about 650, 000 barrel of oil per day and 1, 000, 000, 000 standard cubic feet (scf) of gas per day. Oil and Gas are produced mainly from offshore super complexes (Zakum and Umm Shaif), processed in ADMA facilities on DAS Island and then the Gas is delivered to ADGAS company facilities on the same island to be processed in its LNG Plant. Oil and LNG Gas are finally shipped through tanker berths to Oil tankers and LNG Gas tankers

Main Responsibilities
Providing technical expertise and assistance to operational division on all matters related to reliability engineering, maintenance programs, spare parts management and Enterprise Asset Management System (EAM) data management and utilization. Implementing the EAM requirements for new projects/assets in the EAM system. Characterizing and reducing the risk of property loss and business interruption by developing and applying risk assessment and reliability techniques, forensic analysis and predictive analytics methods. Developing qualification plans, performing data analysis and conducting reliability evaluations including predictive reliability modeling and simulation. Providing design input to improve plant, system and Assets reliability. Reviewing Projects/EPC scope of work for new Assets/Facilities to ensure EAM requirements are well addressed. Driving root cause / corrective actions to resolve recurrent / major failure modes. Carrying out studies and statistical analysis on materials systems, spare consumptions and spares obsolescence. Contributing to the 1 year &5 year plans to ensure spare availability for Shutdown, TAR and major services.

I was responsible for the AM of Umm Lulu and SARB fields

Main Responsibilities:
Leading, managing and providing guidance to Asset Management Engineering Section and Data Management Section in provision of a dedicated support to Umm Lulu and SARB Business Unit. Developing and Updating the Asset Maintenance Management System at Business Unit level. Developing and implementing Asset Optimization & Maintenance Operational Excellence strategies and Plans. Developing and implementing Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Asset Integrity management (AIM) strategies, plans and programs.

One of the key success factors for Integrated Readiness of the New Fields is to develop an effective and efficient Asset Management System which should be implemented with all of its essential features including a comprehensive Asset Register, Maintenance Program and Spare Parts management in order to provide a smooth transition from Project Phase to Operations Phase. The estimated total number of Assets/Tags is 180, 000.

Main Responsibilities:

A. Asset Management System Implementation Project
1. Leading the development of the project scope of work (SOW) covering the different phases of implementation for the three new fields, where phase-1 will cover the early production facilities (wellhead towers, wellheads, platforms, equipment, structures, etc.) of UL & Nasr fields, Projects facilities for SARB field, and Phase-2 will cover the full fields developed facilities that cover over 180, 000 company Assets/Tags
2. Supervising activities associated with the implementation of all phases of AMS project (Phase-1 (2nd Q 2013 to 1st Q 2014) and Phase-2 (3rd Q 2015 to 4th Q 2018) from development of SOW, to completion, including testing and commissioning
3. Supervising the implementation of the Reliability Cantered Maintenance technique that will be implemented on critical equipment (Assets)
4. Supervising development and selection of the proper maintenance strategy for each equipment (Asset) based on its criticality, development of the preventive and predictive maintenance programmes and Condition Monitoring techniques
5. Leading the development of SOW of the AMS interface with the automation system that will be established to enable data communication from field equipment to the AMS for analysis and action as required

Worked in the Operation Planning Team (OPT) under the Technical Support Division (TSD) that gives the technical support for the offshore Divisions/Sites in Zakum and Umm Shaif Super complexes

a. Developing and planning, in conjunction with relevant Job Officers (JOs), short/long term work programs for major maintenance/individual projects/action plan in line with Company’s Business Plan
b. Ensuring Division’s maintenance and operations activities are carried out according to agreed plans
c. Developing/updating plans for offshore barges and other marine vessels at various offshore locations and equipment
d. Producing & developing the Two Year Integrated Activity Plan including engineering & maintenance Schemes, barge/boat plan, Well Head Tower (WHT) campaign plan, major inspections/overhauls, shutdowns plans, etc
e. Developing / updating the bedding plan in view of each scheme’s schedule by coordinating with each job officer.
2.Major Overhauls / Shutdowns:
a. Planning and preparing for the major overhauls/shutdowns of equipment, train, plant, system, etc.
This involves the preparation of the relevant budget, action plan, scope of work (preliminary and revised), S/D plan, materials, shutdown organization as well as tracking the preparatory activities through regular/adhoc meetings and issuing the construction package
b.Tracking the major overhaul / shutdown activities, monitoring and reporting the progress during the shutdown and preparing post shutdown reports after coordinating and holding the relevant lessons learnt workshop

3.Maintenance Schemes:
a.Developing/establishing work program for maintenance of offshore facilities

4.Maintenance Budget

• Focal Point for preparing, monitoring, analyzing, auditing & follow-up the Maximo Issues such as :
−All system problems related to Maintenance, all system modifications, data update, etc.
−All Preventive maintenance (PM) Work Orders which need system / plant shutdown.
−All Corrective maintenance (CM) Work Orders of high cost nature, abnormal fault, Plant
Modification Request & shutdown requirement.

5. Work Control / Monitoring:
• Follow up / monitor the progress of works execution through site visits / meetings, ensure smooth implementation of work programs (plans), adjust programs according to changing conditions, calls & chair pre−works / follow up periodic meetings. Prepare post shutdown reports.

6. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Annual Objectives: Participating in Maintenance KPIs / Annual Objectives preparations and their progress monitoring to be presented to senior management.

7. Plant Modifications & Engineering Study Requests: Custody, following up, updating and coordinating with Engineering

5. Key Performance Indicators and Annual Objectives: Preparing and monitoring maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Annual Objectives progress to be presented to senior management in the "Quarterly Performance Review (QPR) Presentation".
6. Plant Modifications & Engineering Studies: Custody, following up, updating and coordinating with Engineering and all concerned disciplines the Plant Modification Requests (PMRs) and Work Requests for Engineering studies (WRs).
7. Task Forces: Participating as required in task forces that prepare studies / recommendations for the relevant subjects.

BAPETCO is a joint venture company between Shell and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC). BAPETCO had seven main production sites/plants: BED-1, BED-2, BED-3, BED15-1, Sitra, Gemsa, and Obayied. The company was producing about 800, 000 scf of gas and 200, 000 barrel of oil per day. I worked in BED-3 where it was the main production plant of the company in the Egyptian western desert. BED-3 had three gas trains and one oil train.
Bed-3 was receiving the oil and gas from the other production areas and wells, processing and exporting them to Alameriya metering station in Alexandria (where gas is metered and sold) and Alhamra metering station in Alalamin (for oil metering and exporting).

1.Managing and operating the Maint. Planning Department including the CMMS (COMAC from 1990 till end of 1999 and IMMPOWER from beginning of 2000 till I left in June 2000) to ensure the continued service of maint. to the production of gas and oil.
2.Long and Short Term Plans: Preparing / updating the 5 years maint. reference plan that was updated annually. Also preparing the 90−day rolling plan that was updated on weekly basis.
3.Major Overhauls / Shutdowns: Planning and executing Train and Equipment S/Ds. The execution involved progress tracking and reporting during and post the relevant S/Ds.
4.CMMS: was responsible for the implementation of the new CMMS "IMMPOWER"
I am certified from both COMAC and IMMPOWER companies.
As a custodian and manager of the above mentioned systems, I had the following main duties:
4.1.The successful implementation of the CMMS to all company equipment as appropriate.
4.2.Preparing, checking and issuing the due planned work (PMs).
4.3.Reviewing and planning the breakdown/shutdown jobs with the relevant Discipline Engineers.
4.4.Extracting, compiling and issuing reports from the CMMS as required by the Job Officers and maint. Sector Manager. This included the Backlog Reports and other KPIs reports.
4.5.Backing up the data on daily, weekly and monthly basis, and archiving reports and work orders when due.
5.Implementing preventive maint. for all company sites. This included Bed-3, Bed−1, Bed−2, Bed15-1, Sitra, AL−Ameriya metering station, AL−Hamra metering station and Gemsa.
6.Materials Follow-up: Following up material requisitions (MR's) via the CMMS system.
7.Maintenance Monthly Report: Compiling and preparing the maintenance monthly report (including Performance Indicators).
8.Field Change Proposals (FCPs): Custody, following up, updating and coordination of related work with Engineering and all concerned disciplines.
9.Meetings: Attending regular and irregular coordination meetings and writing the minutes as required.

A- Long and Short Term Plans: Preparing / updating the 5 years maintenance reference plan that was updated annually. Also preparing the 90−day rolling plan that was updated on weekly basis.
B- Major Overhauls / Shutdowns: Planning and executing Train and Equipment shutdowns.
The execution involved progress tracking and reporting during and post the relevant shutdowns.
C-CMMS: Implementation of the CMMS "COMAC".

Was assigned to Bapetco where worked in BED-1 site as a maintenance engineer in the vehicle workshop of the company and then worked in the Oil/Gas plant.
Was responsible for:
- Preventive and Breakdown Maintenance of Bed-1 Oil/Gas
Plant equipment
− Quick service of the vehicles.
− Maintenance of vehicle breakdowns.
− Preventive maintenance of vehicles.

Worked in the vehicle workshops with the following responsibilities:
-Preventive maintenance of army vehicles such as Land Rovers and Land
Cruisers.
-Doing the maintenance of the breakdowns of the vehicles.
-Quick service of vehicles.
-Obtaining the spare parts for the vehicles from the stores.

Was trained in the vehicle service station of the company to be the manager of a new one. My responsibilities were as follows:
-Supervision the work of all sections (mechanical workshop for quick
service, wheel alignment section, lubricating and greasing section,
washing section and a mini market).
-Servicing and giving training on the equipment of the new station.

-Was responsible for the maintenance of some of the machinery.
-Fabricating aluminum stands for the rolls of wallpaper to be presented in show
places.
