* Master of Science Degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering- Cairo University, 2011. Title of Thesis: Investigating Cable Net System For Long Span Cable-Stayed Bridges The Thesis abstract might be summarized as: The long span cable- stayed bridges considered as a modern form of bridges which is both economical and aesthetic. It has been extensively employed in the construction of long-span bridges in the past few decades in crossing for wide water. It is especially important to select most appropriate scheme of the additional cable net arrangement in order to obtain most adequate distribution of stresses among the bridge girder length, minimum deflection as well as minimum tension forces for the main cables. The main goal of this research is to investigate the most effective cable net arrangement for each straining action on the long spans cable- stayed bridges on the main girder under static loads using the method of three dimensional finite element analysis. This goal shall be achieved by evaluating three suggested cable net arrangements for three bridges with moderate, long, and ultra long main spans. The research results conclude that the use of such additional cable net showed a significant improvement with different ratios happened to some of the straining actions of the main girders, in addition to values of the deflection, as well as the tension forces of main cables of the three studied bridges under the effect of static loads. * Certified Project Management Professional (PMP ®), Project Management Institute ( PMI-United States of America) PMP#1584864 Trainings Attended
