for Adwan Chemicals, Mostaganem, Algeria at their Chlorine plant. Involved in the erection and commissioning and operation of the plant.
RESPONSIBILITIES

The plant consists of the following units:
Bipolar membrane cell electrolyzers, hydrochloric acid, Sodium Hypochlorite, Chlorine liquefaction, FeCl3, caustic concentration, brine plant and cation exchange unit. Utilities like RO unit, cooling water, steam, nitrogen plant, DM water, and instrument and padding air. The plant is operated by DCS from Yokogawa (Centum VP).

Checking of equipment and piping erection as per P&ID and isometric. Performed pre-commissioning activities like pressure testing of lines, loop test, DCS graphics and interlock review, water circulation of brine system to check for integrity of equipment and piping. Working closely with the project & construction groups for punch listing, system walkthroughs, handover and acceptance of systems. Supervised the installation of packings and filters in columns, filling resin in ion exchange unit. Lead the team in membraning and assembling the electrolysers.

Responsible for training the local engineers and operators, in charge of duties which includes monitoring and running the plant at its optimum, troubleshooting, compiling daily, monthly production reports, efficiency calculations, preparing and updating SOP, check lists for start up and shut down of equipment, production planning to meet production targets. Responsible for cell maintenance. Planning and scheduling of shutdowns and maintenance activities. Has independently managed the membraning and assembly of the electrolysers. Involved in making of management of change (MOC), HAZOP analysis. Liaison with technology supplier regarding performance of membranes and electrodes and instruct implementation in plant.
