• Provide on-site technical support for Nalco Champion's customers in Egypt. The technical support is provided as per agreed service plan, and includes:
o Trouble shooting of Cooling Towers, Boilers and Waste Water Units problems.
o In collaboration with sales representative, preparing treatment programs for different Utilities and Hydrocarbon units based on actual and design data collected from the customers site, using software simulators where required.
o Applying agreed upon contingency plans for mitigating the effects of oil and sour leaks in cooling water systems.
o Provide routine calibration and maintenance for the 3D Trasar units in customer sites.
o Carrying out energy efficiency studies around heat exchangers to pin point fouling and scaling problems.
o Closely monitoring the corrosion rates of cooling systems.
o Monitoring and adjusting the chemical injection rates of Nalco chemicals and performing calibration and required maintenance for the dosing pumps.
o Preparing detailed technical service reports for the customers records, highlighting any problems found, and the actions taken to correct them. The report also contains details of recommended actions to be taken by customer teams.
o Monitoring Nalco chemicals stocks and alerting the customers for any chemical that is close to the critical stock value.

Naphtha Plant Operator at Alexandria national refining and petrochemicals company (anrpc)

• DCS Operations
• Worked as a member of the engineering team responsible for the timely and successful completion of the commissioning and start up phases of the new Naphtha Hydro-treating Unit in the plant (Achieved July 2013)
• Joined the commissioning team for the Utilities plant in The Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Co. for one year to support the utilities team in the newly established plant during the pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.

DCS Responsibilities:

• Ensuring optimal operating conditions (Normal, Start-up, Shutdown and Emergency) of NHT unit during shifts through DCS control.
• Ensuring optimum safety conditions.
• Dealing with Instrumented Safety System and Emergency Shutdown System.
• Dealing with stationary and rotary equipment (Fired heaters, Fractionating columns, Centrifugal and Reciprocating pumps and compressors).
• Trouble shooting of problems encountered during operation.
• Supervising the work of field operators.
• Preparing work permits for various maintenance jobs in the unit.

Commissioning and Start-up Responsibilities:
• Making a "Conformity with P&ID" survey for the field and reporting deviations.
• Working with control engineers to assure correct implementation of control schemes.
• Working with DCS Engineers during the build-up and commissioning of the DCS system.
• Taking the initiative to prepare the DCS drawings for the Fired Heaters in the unit.
• Supervising the equipment commissioning activities in the field.
• Working in close contact with the licencor advisers (UOP) to achieve optimum operating conditions.
