My position as Engineer in charge of the Buidings sector at Highways and Factories involved a lot of planning and paperwork. I had to design and implement new buildings around areas of Doha where new housing sectors had been built.
I had to survey the site where a bridge was being proposed, to ensure it was the most suitable site for a buildings, and then seek the permissions to build . From there I would have to conceive a suitable design for the building, and meet with local residents to discuss it. I would occasionally have to be on site during a build.
It was my job to ensure that implement new strategies to rebuild or restore the factory . I also had to provide strategies to stop certain areas of my ward from flooding. Most of my day was spent drawing plans and studying maps.

Ensuring that all assigned work is completed on time and within agreed budgets.
Supervising Projects: including in house, external contractors and sub-contractors.
Attending meetings and competently communicate with Clients, Contractors and
major asset owners and stakeholders.
Applying personal technical knowledge and experience to the development and
delivery of technical training for graduate engineers.
Setting out Project works in accordance with Drawings & Specification.
Producing and processing financial measurements.
Preparing enquiry and order documents.
Maintenance of daily records.
Supporting tender bids.
