I gained extensive experience in advanced polymer characterization techniques such as NMR, FTIR, GC-MS, GPC, DSC, TGA, SEM, TEM, DLS, Raman Spectroscopy, and UV-spectroscopy. This rigorous training enabled me to understand the properties of a polymer at a molecular level and thus reinforcing my desire to delve deeper into research. My Master thesis involved synthesising novel A-B-A type triblock copolymers using Ring Opening Metathesis Polymerisation (ROMP) & Atom Transfer Radical Polymerisation (ATRP). Aiming for drug delivery application, the copolymer was intricately designed. During which course I have had gained experience in organic wet lab synthesis, purification, and chemical characterisation. I also could perform mechanical testing, rheological testing of this material in order to evaluate for self-healing applications. This project, which spanned over a year, saw me independently go from ideation stage to practical application, and ultimately to a research publication
