I am responsible for all
the mechanical, electrical, and piping construction activities in line 2 East Depot
including the under ground piping and electrical utilities well as all the MEPF systems
in the depot (11 buildings include worksop, stabling, admin., power s/s, paint facility
wash facility, chiller, pump station and water tank, etc.). My duties also includes
reviewing the design drawing, assisting the technical office and project controls,
reporting the monthly progress and preparing the detailed work plans and schedules
to achieve the project milestones, performing inspection of work to ensure quality and
conformance to specification and codes, preparing and attending the coordination
and progress meetings and supporting the HSE team. Coordinate with the client and
subcontractors. Review and approve the weekly progress report of the
subcontractors and approve their monthly invoices. Review the subcontractor’s shop
drawings, construction work packages, method statements, and ITP. Conduct the
weekly site meeting with the client and prepare the monthly invoice. Lead the MEP
site team for the self-perform work in addition to the MEP sub contractors (over 500

Employed as Electrical Construction Manager for ORASCOM SAUDI at King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) Project, Jeddah, KSA. I was responsible for all the electrical construction activities in Orascom’s scope including the Utility tunnel, Arterials and Arterial Tunnels, Express way and internal roads, Car Parks, LV and Communication Networks, Foul Pumping Stations, Gray Water Pumping station, MV Distribution and Switchgears, etc. My duties also includes reviewing the design drawing, assisting the technical office and project controls, reporting the monthly progress and preparing the detailed work plans and schedules to achieve the project milestones, performing inspection of electrical work to ensure quality and conformance to specification and codes, preparing and attending the coordination and progress meetings and supporting the HSE team to achieve the Zero Accident Goal and implement the safety roles on site.
Employed as Electrical Construction Manager for ORASCOM Construction Industries at Syrian Cement Company Project, Aleppo Plant Line 1 (7500TPD), Aleppo, Syria. I was responsible for all the electrical construction activities in the production and non-production facilities. I participated in the commissioning and start-up of the plant. My duties also included reviewing the design drawing, assisting the technical office and project controls, reporting the monthly progress and preparing the detailed work plans and schedules to achieve the project milestones, performing inspection of electrical work to ensure quality and conformance to specification and codes, preparing and attending the coordination and progress meetings and supporting the HSE team to achieve the Zero Accident Goal and implement the safety roles on site.
During this period I was
responsible of all the engineering, purchasing, and construction activities of the
infrastructure and landscaping work at Saraya Project, coordinating the construction
activities with the PMC and the Owner. I supervised the electrical construction
activities of installing MV switchgear, power cables, telecommunications and fiber
optics, street and area lighting, and relocation of existing facilities.
Running my own private business in trading, stock market, and real estate. Working
part time for different consultant engineering offices as a lead electrical designer for
housing and commercial buildings projects around my place.
Employed as an Electrical Field Engineer and SETROUTE Coordinator for Eastern Bechtel Company Limited. at On Shore Gas Development Phase 3 (OGD III) Project, Habshan, UAE. I was acting as “Lead Electrical Engineer”, responsible for reviewing the design drawings, subcontractors’ submittals of drawings, quality and execution plans, and material approvals. Coordinate with the engineering and the client to resolve the design issues. Produce drawings and specifications for the temporary facilities electrical and communications work. Prepare and attend the coordination meetings with the sub contractors and the client. Assist project controls in the establishment of detailed work plans and schedules. Responsible for on site SETROUTE data base.
ELNG Project Trains 1&2, Idku, Egypt. I joined this project at the very
early stages and participated in the site preparations and designing and building the
temporary facilities including all the power, telephone and data systems. My duties
included responsibility of onsite SETROUTE database and associated interferences
with electrical installations, tests and systems scoping and turnover. Coordinate with
Engineering to resolve drawing and SETROUTE issues. Coordinate and inspect
subcontractors in the electric field. Provide technical direction and assistance to
Electrical Superintendents and crafts. Assist project controls and supervision in the
establishment of detailed work plans and schedules. Coordinate with the vendor
technical advisors as required. Perform inspections of all electrical work in progress
on a continual basis and complete final checkout of electrical installations to ensure
quality and conformance to specifications and codes prior to turnover to for start up.
Review and issue AS - BUILT drawings.
Employed as an Electrical Field Engineer and SETROUTE Coordinator for Bechtel Egypt S.A.E. at Sidi Krir 3&4 Power Station, Alexandria, Egypt. At this project my duties included taking the responsibility of the SETROUTE (Bechtel’s Electric Tracking System Computer Program) on the site, doing all the field input and reports, preparing cable pulling packages, verifying the cable routes and specifying and ordering the required material for the electrical work.
During this period coordinated the resolution of the design issues between the design engineers and the site, supported the field supervision during the erection and oil filling of the large power transformers, ISO Phase Bus, pulling the underground XLPE high voltage cables, installing cable sealing ends and the associated tests, installing MV and LV switchgear and Motor Control Centers and installing all the protection and control panels all over the plant including the turbine and generator control and protection systems. Assisted in monitoring the day to day activities of the contractor’s electrical construction organization to ensure conformance to the technical specification and milestone schedule, prepared the turnover packages to the start-up and the client and also was functioning as the Lead Electrical Engineer during his absence from the site.
at their Shoaiba Phase 2 Desalination and Power project. At this project my
duties included taking the lead role in the erection of the 380KV GIS, underground
high voltage cables and cable sealing ends, transformer assembly and oil filling and
modifying the existing 110KV GIS for the high voltage tie in.
Since January 1997 and during the two-year project slow down phase I took the
responsibilities of the lead electrical field engineer and supervised the electrical craft
during switchgear erection, cable tray and conduit installation, cable pulling and cable
termination.
During this period I coordinated the resolution of design issues, provided technical
input to the VOP's with electrical issues, Specified and ordered the required material
for the electrical work, supervised repair and modification to the site temporary power
and telephone systems and coordinated between SABCO, site contractors and the
client.
this project my responsibilities included monitoring the day
to day activities to ensure conformance to the COE technical specifications and the
specified U.S. codes; coordinating the daily interface between the company and the
COE / EAF (Egyptian Air Force) during the project completion; assisting in resolving
technical problems; conducting electrical construction completion walk downs and
punch list rectification. System installed at this project included 11.5KV diesel
generator sets, indoors and out door MV and LV switchgear, step down pad mounted
transformers and ring main units, 11KV and 400V under ground cables, air craft
maintenance buildings, runway lighting and markers, control tower, communications,
emergency power, fire and smoke detection and electrical services to different
buildings allover the air base.
at their Cairo South 150 MW Combined Cycle Project located near Helwan, Egypt. At
this project my responsibilities included monitoring the day to day activities of the
contractor’s electrical construction organization to ensure conformance to the
contract technical specifications, the specified U.S. codes and standards and the
project milestone schedule; coordinating the daily interface between the contractor
and the EEA during the system completion, release to startup, checkout and pre-
operational testing; witnessing the electric systems static and dynamic testing of
components and equipment, including the protective relays for the 220KV
transmission and distribution system; monitoring the contractor’s compliance with the
Project safety program and site work rules; assisting the electrical contract
coordinator and contractor in resolving technical problems; conducting electrical
construction completion walk downs and punch list completion verifications;
participating in the weekly start - up review meetings; and preparing daily progress
reports. System installed at this project included 220KV transmission and distribution
including oil filled cables and gas insulated switchgear (GIS), 11.5KV/220KV step-up
transformers, 11.5KV/6.3KV auxiliary transformers, 6.3KV auxiliary power distribution
supply, and ac distribution systems, essential ac power supply, lighting and
convenience power systems, inter-plant “GAI-TRONICS” communications, fire and
smoke detection, HVAC temperature control systems, commercial telephone,
cathodic protection and a distributed control system (DCS
Employed as an electrical engineer by Bin Turki Construction and Trading Establishment on their project to construct five (5) school buildings for the Saudi Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia’s eastern province. At this project my responsibilities included specifying and purchasing all electrical construction materials, generating construction sketches and drawings as well as the project as-built drawings, coordinating the electrical construction with the responsible authorities, SCECO (Saudi Consolidated Electric Company) and supervising the installation of all electrical and communication construction activities. This project included lighting and convenience power conduits, wiring, termination and testing; air conditioning and ventilation; science and language laboratories electrical services; fire detection and alarm systems; inter-communication system; installation of the main power supply cables, distribution panels and grounding system.
Employed as the electrical construction engineer for ORASCOM, the installation subcontractor for the EBASCO-CONTRACK joint venture on the Corps of Engineers, Cairo West air base utilities upgrade project. In this position I was responsible for supervising construction of the new power plant, which included two 11.5KV diesel generator sets; the 11.5KV underground cables, splicing and testing; installation of the 11.5KV pad mounted switchgear and terminations; the step down pad mounted transformers; two sets of 11.5KV indoor switchgear; the step up transformers for the existing generator and commercial feeders; the low voltage cable distribution network; the electric services to 150 buildings; installation and wiring of the protection and control panels along with the MCCs; upgrading the existing power plant; installation of convenience lighting and power; HVAC equipment; fire detection and alarm systems and grounding.
Employed as the electrical construction engineer for the ORASCOM - VOEST ALPINE joint venture on their continuous casting machine project, at the Egyptian Steel Factory. In this position I was responsible for supervising the installation of: all electric motors and instrumentation; power and control cables and terminations; three 55KVA, 11KV/380V step down transformers, low voltage switchgear, motor control centers and PLC control panels; electrical installations for the 160/50 ton overhead crane; power and control wiring for the HVAC and fire protection system; all electrical installation associated with the Torch Cutting Machine, Marking Machine, weighing system, lubrication system and emergency compressed air system; and all grounding. Participated in the checkout, testing and initial three months of operation, including training for the steel factory staff.
Employed as an electrical construction engineer for ORASCOM - CARTER DAY INTERNATIONAL joint venture on their seed processing plant for the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture located at Beni Suif. On this project I participated in the pre-construction study and plant design, specifying and purchasing the equipment and plant materials under the supervision of Carter-Day International, and then producing the shop drawings for construction. After this I became responsible for supervising the erection and electrical installation of the plant, which includes seeding machines, cleaners, fine cleaners, cylinder speeder gravity separators, magnetic separators, bucket elevators, conveyers, a treating machine, weighing and bagging machines and flex augers. The construction phase included installation of all power and control wiring for the processing equipment; installation of all instrumentation, lighting and convenience power; grounding; connecting the main power feeders to the available commercial electrical supply; checkout; testing and initial operation of the plant including staff training.
Employed as an electrical construction engineer for the ORASCOM - MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC COMPANY joint venture at their Cairo South 220KV GIS substation projected. Under the direction of Mitsubishi I was responsible for monitoring the erection of the indoor and out door GIS equipment, control cables and terminations; all control, relay, zone protection and recording panels; three 125 MVA step-up transformers and one 90MVA auxiliary transformer along with their IPB connections to the generators; three gantry towers and one terminal tower along with the associated connections to 220KV overhead lines; CCVT’s and surge arresters; switchgear’s compressed air system and the entire grounding network for the substation. I also participated in the checkout, testing and initial operation of this substation after the completion of construction.
During my military service, I worked as a teacher and training instructor for electrical engineering in the Vehicle Technical Training Center, Egyptian Armed Forces.
