o Project one: Camps Improvement projects / Husn Camp (Irbid-Jordan) & Talbiyah camp (Amman, Zyzia).
UNRWA established this project as a part of the infrastructure and camp improvement Program in 2008, to practice the architectural and urban development in camps and to produce architectural and urban improvement plan in order to prepare full architectural projects serves in a comprehensive approach.
Job description: Architect & urban planner
Responsibilities & accomplishments:
• Assist in preparing detailed architectural design for different types of projects (recreation, housing, schools..etc.) in the camps
• Finalizing the first action plan including design projects and submitted to the concerned donor.
• Practicing different tools in identifying community needs and priorities such as focus groups, thematic groups..etc., and assist the volunteers from the camp in understanding
the purpose of the project
• Assist in the implementation of a comprehensive, participatory planning and integrated approach to camp improvement.
• Support in the formulation feasibility studies and urban improvement plans
• for the camp addressing the refugee’s needs in an integrated and participatory planning
approach
• Finalizing community’s’ final requirement with the concerned stakeholders from UNRWA,
local community and any other entities
• Participate in the formulation of sound solutions for shelters and housing projects linked to the overall master plan of the camps
• Assist in the compilation of a comprehensive data base for the camp
Project two: Repac Project / Housing project (shelters design) / Husn Camp (Irbid-
Jordan) & Talbiyah camp (Amman, Zyzia).
A project established by UNRWA in 2012 funded by the German donors as a part of the infrastructure and camp improvement program in order to fund the proposed projects submitted by the camp improvement projects, the first phase included housing projects(construction and repairs) for both Husn and Talbiyah camp for more than 200 shelters.
Job description: Architect
Responsibilities & accomplishments:
• Preparing and design the full architectural & working drawings for Husn Camp shelters
Housing project .with approximate area of 60 m2 per shelter for more than 50 shelters.
• Prepare the full as built drawings for the concerned shelters and produce practical solutions.
• Coordinate with the structural engineers and the electrical engineers And the supervise the process of producing the shelters and the final tendering process.
• Supervise and coordinate the engineers and drafts men to produce the final product for tendering.
• Gain the approvals from the local community of the produced design
