• Provide support in operation, installation, patching, security hardening, Upgrades. Configuring and maintaining UNIX, Linux, Windows, Mac based servers, virtual environments (including VMware, Citrix, Proxmox and OS native virtualization platforms), Docker Containers, SAN and IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Tape Library backup environment in WCMC-Qs facilities.
• Develop, install, administer, and troubleshoot services on servers to ensure reliable deployment and operation. Which includes: Apache, Tomcat, Webdav, SVN, GIT, DNS, DHCP, Email services, File share services, LDAP, MySQL, VMware, Shibboleth IDP, Docker, Puppet, Ansible and Active Directory.
• Establish, install and maintain provisions for fault tolerance and backup operations on servers and individual client systems including F5 BIGIP Load balancer and Samba CTDB file shares. Responsible for the restoration processes of servers. Assist staff with restore requests. Assist, monitor and contribute in planning, evaluation, integration and installation of server hardware, software and related technologies. Provide technical support to other systems administrator, other ITS units and WCMC-Q clients.
• Server migration across hardware and virtualization platforms (P2P, P2V, V2V).
• Administration of SAN Storage (Dell Equallogic and IBM v7000), Enterprise Backup Solution (IBM Tivoli Storage Manager
(TSM) / TKLM / IBM Tape Library / IBM Brocade SAN switches) and Vault/DR operations.
• Administration of cloud services such as Office 365, Box and Azure Cloud.
• Prepare documentation for hosted services, procedures and policies and preparing for Audits.
• Monitoring infrastructure and services using tools such as Nagios, Check_MK, Cacti and SMSFoxbox.
• Perform systems level programming on servers using Shell scripts, Perl, Java and PowerShell.
• Participate in weekly team meetings, discussions of technical and process issues for the team and other knowledge sharing
forums such as WCMC-Q Issue Tracking System, internal WCMC-Q Wiki and other network based information systems.
• Manage projects including; initiation, workload assignment, prioritization, job sharing, documentation.
• Proactively take on responsibility for a proper resolution of assigned calls with full ownership of the tasks, being sensitive to
operational requirements such as ensuring minimal service interruption. Monitor and coordinate outstanding issues/requests
placed in the Issue Tracking System for timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Prepare documentation for hosted services, procedures and policies. Prepare for internal and external Audits.
• Study, learn and keep abreast of the latest developments in technology. Use initiative and creativity to further enhance user
services, and recommend new technology and new services applicable to WCMC-Q infrastructure and progressive growth.
