➢ Make sure all ramp staff are in possession of PPE.
➢ Conduct safely and flight handling briefing, with the team of operators and porters. Ensure all information/telexes pertaining to the flight are available for action.
➢ Checks joining cargo against advice form to ensure correct delivery, sign form and instruct Head Loader/Deriver to position cargo on the stand ready for loading.
➢ Appoint guide persons for marshalling of GSE and ensure that standard hand signals are used during marshalling and GSE operators follow the standard marshalling procedure.
➢ No personnel/equipment except the Headset Man/the appointed person shall approach an aircraft until it has come to a complete stop on parking bay, the wheel chocks are in position, engines have been shut down and the anti-collision light have been turned off.
➢ Ensures that all equipment correctly and safely positioned on the aircraft. Includes air bridge, passenger steps, conveyor belts with marshalling were necessary.
➢ Monitors the offloading and loading of Baggage, Cargo and Mail to ensure operations are carried out within the specific time schedule permitted. Ensures that local baggage is delivered to the arrival area as per priority and that baggage and cargo is placed on the correct flight, according destination/flight number.
➢ Liaises with Load Controller/Ramp Supervisor on problems related to space on aircraft to accommodate baggage/cargo, last minute transfers, equipment failure and similar issues.
➢ Competes and signs Loading Report according to actual loading made on the aircraft, and reports to
Load Controller any changes made or to be made prior to loading finalization, at least 15 minutes before aircraft departure time.
➢ Completes the check sheet with all related loading/offloading activities, equipment used and submit for Ramp Management record.
➢ Responsible to comply with the applicable laws, regulations and procedures of NAS and customers.
Verifies the flight and ULD ( Unit Load Device ) details against Flight Freight Manifest.
Coordinates with the Import Ramp Staff until every flight ULD’s and bulk is received into the warehouse.
Uses Hand Held Terminal ( HHT ) to carry out system transactions into SkyLog.
Closely monitors offloading of cargo from ULD/Bulk by forklift operator or the porters.
Verifies the Airwaybill number on the package(s) against the manifest information. Physically counts the pieces in the storage unit. The condition of the package(s) is checked and recorded in case of any damage.
All special cargo is stored in the dedicated storage locations.
Collect and collate the necessary documents and information from the appropriate sources and input the data in accordance with laid down operating procedures and standards into the SITA FAST IV cargo system in order to maintain currency of information and status dispositions of cargo consignments and facilitate system-wide service and planning requirements.
Update Flight Handling Reports utilizing received/generated information to ensure that all supporting and substantive documentation is available. Identify, monitor and reconcile irregularities and discrepancies to achieve service and quality standards.
Progress and input statistical and operational data from cargo documents/telexes into the appropriate computer database to facilitate the production of reports and management
information used to measure productivity levels and standards against set objectives.
Check incoming telex and fax communications and respond or refer to the relevant responsible individual/supervisor as appropriate to ensure timely and effective flow of information & communication.
Prepare and produce routine reports/administrative documents for each shift to incorporate into section/departmental periodic reports measuring productivity/service standards and
attainment levels.
Handles On Road Couriers and In House Couriers.
Monitoring of warehouse supply and inventory control.
Knowledgeable in handling import and export operations.
Responsible for checking, issuing and controlling of company’s equipment used for the departments operations.
Empowered to apply resources/resolve issues through all the facilities under my command.
Conducts and leads a regular meeting with couriers at least once a week or as often as the need arises. Provides minutes of the meeting.
Conducts OJT for newly hired couriers.
Knowledgeable in problems in customer sites. Well aware of all the problems and concerns of the customer - on top of everything.
Entertains customer inquiries and complaints regarding shipment status.
Performs and/or implement quality system and ISO related activities.
Monitors attendance and overtime. Maintains sanitation and orderliness in site.
Efficiently handles and monitors returned packages to the warehouse.
Responsible for checking and monitoring all outbound packages picked-up by the couriers including the HAWB information.
Enhances and facilitates good inter-personal relationship with in-house couriers and counterparts.
Participates in the annual performance evaluation of the staff.
Join Sales in their client calls.
Communicates with the Operations Manager regarding all the details of the issues and concerns of the customer in a timely manner.
Monitors breakdown of shipments upon acceptance via hub for inbound at Airlines. Assists in pre-sorting/segregation of shipments per station location.
Directs Ramp Agent and Forklift operators on pallet shipments for immediate release.
Consolidates shipments as per routing destinations.
Assists in outbound build up thru LDT’s and AMJ’s from warehouse upon loading to aircraft. Monitors re-weighing and balancing of Ramp Agents at airport if necessary.
Sends Pre-alert to counterparts for close monitoring and transit of shipments.
