Circulating Nurse
• Receives and checks patient’s documents needed for the operation.
• Accomplishes records of operation and other forms related to such surgery.
• Assists anesthetist in the induction of anesthesia.
• Prepares sterile drapes, instruments, and sutures for surgery.
• Positions patient properly on the operating table and connect the vital signs monitor.
• Do skin preparation in aseptic technique.
• Attends to the needs of the surgical team throughout the operation.
• Do sponges, instruments, sutures count with the scrub nurse.
• Endorsement of patient to recovery room nurse with the anesthesiologist.
Scrub Nurse
• Prepares the instruments, drapes, sutures for surgery.
• Serves the surgeon with sterile gown and gloves properly.
• Do sponges, instruments, needles count with the circulating nurse.
• Do skin closure with surgeon’s consent.
• Immerses used instruments in disinfectant solutions
Recovery Room Nurse
• Performs nursing assessment of all post-operative patients.
• Observes and monitors closely the patient and reports undue development.
• Documentation in a brief, accurate and complete manner.
• Carries out doctor’s order accurately. Administer drugs appropriately.
• Endorsement of patient accurately to ward nurse.

Also covers Endoscopy Unit and assissts in EGD, Colonoscopy, and Sigmoidoscopy with or without Biopsy and Sclerotherapy.
Assumes the position as the Team Leader.
•Assists the company physician in conducting medical examination or services and in handling treatment of injured or physically unconditioned company personnel.
•Receives, distributes medicine supplies and properly records its issuance from time to time
•Assesses patient’s medical condition and provides immediate remedy. If not managed in the clinic, brings the patient to the nearest hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
•Provides first hand treatment as accidents occur and prepares its report.
•Checks and recommends employee’s fit to work after a leave of absence has been made due to sickness.
•Continuously reports and consults to the immediate superior the problems that may arise in the area of responsibility for disposition.
•Sees to it that all medical equipments are properly cleaned after it’s used and responsible for its safety and storage.
•Maintains a systematic filing of employee’s medical findings and records and other relevant information and documents to serve as reference from time to time.
•Monitors vital signs most especially the hypertensive patients.
•Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Day Surgery Unit Nurse
• Performs nursing assessment of pre-operative patients.
• Evaluates patient’s chart/ file, consent for operation and admission, vital signs, laboratory results, other reports related to such surgery and reports to anesthetist any irregularities.
• Collects blood samples necessary for investigation.
• Performs IV cannulation, IVF therapy and blood transfusion.
• Carries out doctor’s order accurately. Administers drugs appropriately.
• Documentation in brief, accurate and complete manner.
• Provides health teachings to post-operative patients like dietary restriction.
• Proper instruction of home medications, dressing appointments and check-up.
Performs nursing tasks and procedures, using generally accepted methods and techniques, as detailed in policies and procedures for the nursing department.
•Prepares equipments and assists physician during treatments and examinations of patient.
•Administers prescribed medications, either orally or intravenously.
•Observes, reports, and records any reactions of patient to medications or treatment.
•Starts, adjusts and continues routine intravenous therapy upon the order of physician and closely observes the progress of such infusion, recording pertinent observations, such as type and rate of infusion, quality of infusion process and infusion site, including the type and size of needle used, as required by nursing policies and procedures.
•Takes and records patient vital signs as required by patient’s condition or nursing policies and procedures.
•Brings to the attention of appropriate superior any sudden or unexpected changes in vital signs or symptoms on patient’s condition without delay.
•Maintains patient’s medical record on nursing observation and action taken, such as medication and treatments given, patient nursing needs to assure continuity and appropriateness of care.
•Observes and records emotional stability of patient as necessary and express interest in patient progress.
•Explains the procedures and treatments ordered by physician to gain patient’s cooperation and allay apprehensions.
•Prepares patients for any procedures/ treatments/ surgeries.
•Observes general asepsis
•Admits and discharges patients.
•Collects /submits specimen to the laboratory, follow up and refer results to attending physician.
•Do post mortem care.
•Maintains accurate and relevant nursing documentation and confidentiality of information about the patient.
