Risk Manager/ Senior Contracts Engineer within the QR 4.2 billion CP-7B - Design and Construction of Lusail Plaza infrastructure, LRT Station, Public Car Park and Landscape Project. Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and the Corporate Director of Contracts. Responsibilities include:

A. Risk Manager

1. Manage the implementation of the components of the risk management plan on the project

2. Plan and conduct risk workshops to identify major risks on the project

3. Run risk analyses (qualitative and quantitative as needed) to determine actual risk exposure of the project and identify potential milestones where schedule delays and cost overruns maybe encountered.

4. Evaluate risk levels in relation to the QD-SBG risk appetite as well as project and client requirements

5. Identify risk controls/ mitigation actions and contingency plans as needed to the identified risks to ensure they are within the acceptable QD-SBG risk appetite.


6. Monitor and control the implementation of mitigation measures by risk owners.

7. Manage and update on a weekly basis the risk registers, namely design, construction, management overview (internal to QD-SBG) and the issues register.

8. Prepare weekly and monthly risk reports and submissions to the project employer.

9. Communicate the current top risks and issues to the concerned departments verbally, through emails, risk alerts and escalate risks to senior management as needed.

10. Manage the overall Enterprise Risk Management programme on the CP-7B project.

11. Assist in the overall effective implementation of the Corporate Enterprise Wide Risk Management System as needed.

12. Carry out risk based audits on a monthly a basis to assess the effectiveness of the implementation of the risk management process

13. Conduct risk training to the project team to introduce and enhance their knowledge of risk management.

14. Review of existing project documentation and plans and provide an interpretation regarding risk exposure in different discpilnes (QA/QC, HSSE, planning, cost control, design and construction)

B. Senior Contracts Engineer

1. Draft and review sub-contract agreements and variation orders for the subcontractors working on the CP-7B project

2. Lead and participate in meetings and negotiations with project employers, and identify opportunities for repeat business and potential future projects and endeavours.

2. Lead and take part in commercial negotiations as necessary with subcontractors, and help establish long term relationships with prospective long term partners.

3. Reviewing and assessing commercial proposals/ offers for prospective subcontractors.

4. Provide (with the help of Management) opinions on the Main Contract and/or sub contracts with regards to requirements and scope of work etc… to other departments within QD-SBG.

5. Liaise with the corporate procurement and contracts departments with regards to sub-contract requirements.

6. Drafting/ reviewing contractual correspondences with LREDC and the Subcontractors.

7. Assist in the assessment of Lusail Instructions issued to QD-SBG, as well as other quantity surveying exercises as needed.

8. Assist in any proposed/ planned Value Management/ Value Engineering workshops to be carried out by QD-SBG.

9. Assist in carrying out cost control activities for the project and for the corporation as a whole to identify areas of optimization and cost savings.

Risk Manager at Porr-SBG-HBK JV

Risk Manager within the QR 8.8 billion Doha Underground Greenline phase 1 project. Responsibilities include:
• Identifying and assessing project-wide delivery risks, developing and reviewing risk registers, conducting qualitative and quantitative risk analyses, developing mitigation and contingency plans, and reporting to senior management as well as client and Project Management Consultants (PMC) on risk findings for all project aspects.
• Integration of quantitative risk analyses with the project delivery programme to analyse the time and cost impact of various risk scenarios using Monte Carlo simulations, from which various courses of action could be taken to mitigate potential delays or cost over-runs.
• Assessing the legal position of the corporation in terms of risk as it relates to legislation and the contract, as well as aiding in the review and development of the Enterprise Risk Management programme for the corporation through risk management plans, risk workshops and training.

Job responsibilities also include the implementation of Value Management and Value Engineering within the project based on client requirements through working with design, commercial and contract departments to identify, analyse, assess and select alternative construction options based on function whilst reducing costs through value workshops conducted with the mentioned departments. An assessment of options is done through qualitative, semi-quantitative and quantitative approaches to determine the feasibility of the proposed options in terms of time and cost savings. Also responsible for maintaining an options register where alternative options are recorded and reported to senior management and PMC.

Site Manager at Al Jaber and Partners

SiteManager within the CP-6B work package of Lusail City. In charge of delivering various infrastructure elements including storm water, foul sewer and potable water, district cooling, gas, irrigation, electric and telecommunication lines as well as structural components including manholes, inspection chambers and electric substations both pre-cast and cast in-situ. In addition, site works also include the completion of road works from the preparation of the road subgrade, laying and testing of sub base material, asphalt base course and wearing course as well as curbstone laying works.

Job specific responsibilities are listed below:

1) Planning, supervising and monitoring site works as per the approved drawings and required standards (QCS, Lusail city standards) as well as to the required quality and HSSE standards.

2) Preparation and review of site reports, method statements, risk assessments

3) Supervising and liaising with work subcontractors to ensure that their work conforms to the required standards.

4) Review of shop drawings, design proposals and material submittals prior to submission to the client/ consultant.

5) Reviewing and categorising work costs in terms of plant, material and labour and subsequently reporting them for cost control purposes, as well as co-operating with various material suppliers for site material deliveries.

6) Testing, commissioning and handing over of completed works to the supervising consultants

7) Review and update of work progress as in relation to the project BOQ for monthly payment purposes.
