Dr. Kausar Saida

Plan, control and direct the overall activities for the General Education Department with seven faculty members. Scope of position includes: recruiting and supervising faculty members; promoting appropriate professional development for faculty; advising students; reviewing and assessing curriculum, developing and managing department goals and budget; program initiative; shared decision making; team building; college values promotion, creation of a safe, respectful and fair environment.

• Ensure the quality and integrity of each of the courses within the department

♦ Lead the review and improvement of continuing courses

• Oversee student advisement concerning appropriate courses

• Assist in the recruitment, hiring, orientation, and appraisal of faculty and departmental staff

• Actively support the professional growth and development of program faculty

♦ Implement Academic Policy

• Provide assistance in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and educational/ technological materials used in departmental courses

• Provide guidance and leadership in assessment of program goals and student learning outcomes within courses in the department

• Assist in the development and administration of program goals and budget process and their implementation

• Assist in the preparation of annual program reviews and reports, program assessments

• Supervise the development of annual department plans and performance goals

• Ensure compliance on the part of the department with accreditation standards

• Work effectively with colleagues as a member of the ECMIT Community

• Prepare reports as and when needed by the Dean, Academic Affairs.

• Assist in maintaining and updating the college catalog on matters relating to programs and the department

• Plan and conduct departmental meetings

• Coordinate academic issues with departments

• Oversee the General Education website design and development

• Coordinate the preparation of class schedules for General Education

• Assist in coordinating departmental schedule with College Master Schedule
