Thesis Title: Sub- and Supercritical Extraction for Jordanian Oil Shales sub-and supercritical extraction of Jordanian oil shales using aromatic and non aromatic solvents (mostly toluene) was studied to investigate effect of process variables on the yield and structure of the extract. Experiments were carried out using autoclave devise to extract shale oil for Jordanian oil shale. In each experiments the different operating condition particle size, pressure, temperature, batch time and solvents were investigated. The yields were 14.90 and 16.02% for El-lajjun and Sultani oil shale, respectively.
