• Review and have a thorough understanding of project specifications, scope of work, Task Methodology, Material approvals, Inspection and test plan, and Quality Control Plan.
• Ensure that the surface preparation and painting activities are carried out in strict accordance to the client specifications and international standards.
• Ensure that the documents in use at site are current, up to date and traceable.
• Strict control over blasting and painting inspections to ensure no rejections (to avoid rework).
• Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards and client specifications.
• Control all NCR reports and undertake remedial action.
• To keep updating all third party certifications and calibration certificates and make sure that renewal is carried out on time.
• Assessing pre-blast and post blast condition of substrate prior to painting application.
• Inspecting & ensuring the proper way of abrasive and coating material storage & usage.
• Familiar with the methods & usage of testing instruments such as Testex surface profile gauge with Testex tape, limpet gauge, hypodermic needle gauge, WFT & DFT gauge and holiday detector etc.
• Filing and log in of all documents which includes Material Submittals, Method of Statements, RFI's etc.
• General Abrasive Coating & Insulation on various projects in marine, petrochemical and oil & gas industry. Working with wide range of surface preparation methods & application techniques with some of the most hard to handle & sophisticated coating & lining silicates, urethanes & epoxy’s where I always achieved the required specified standards and good quality of work.
• My scope of work includes Inspection of all Painting, Insulation, Fire Proofing & Refractory activities, checking contractor’s works, training contractor personnel as well as assisting for rejuvenation projects, ensuring that all the activities are carried out in accordance with specification & contractual requirements.
• General supervising of all the activities & organizing workloads to ensure deadlines were met & all the equipment is up to Health & Safety standards.
• Review of Coating, Insulation & Fire Proofing specifications, Product technical data sheets, Safety Plans & Analysis risk hazards involving in Painting as per standard procedures.
Responsible for checking the validity of calibration certificates of all inspection tools and equipment prior to and during work execution.
• Interacting with clients & sub-contractor supervisory personnel to final documentation.
• Thermal insulation and cladding work on Boilers, Reactors, Turbines and Vessels & allied plant machineries.
Insulation and cladding for MOV, hot air ducts, chimney and auxiliary boiler. Acoustic insulation for ID, PA &Fin fan.
Insulation for fuel oil, wax and sulphur tanks & connected piping.
• Application of AVICOTE 800 Fire Proofing material to Structure, Reactor & Vessels base, Pipe supports, etc; as per SAES.
• Application & repair process of Refractory of Reactors, Heaters, Furnace, Sulphur Recovery Unit, FCC, etc; as per SAES & SES.
• Application of mortars, Castables, Ceramic Fiber Blanket, Insulation Board Lining work in Heaters, Reformers, Reactors, Incinerator, Condensers, etc.,
Evaluates Painting and Insulation scope of the Area and make sure that the contract, design data, schedule, cost budgets, and quality plans are being properly covering the painting and insulation requirement of the area.
Take part in regular, formal meetings with the Contractor and address the key issues to drive efficiently the painting and insulation work in close coordination.
Constantly checks that the work being performed is adhering to the Project Technical, Safety, Governmental and Environmental Specifications and Standards.
To ensure that checks on the quality and accuracy of the Contractors' craftsmen are carried out according to the Inspection and Test Plans of the contractors.
Coordinate with the various Vendors/reps all painting and insulation related issues. Report daily to the Piping and Mechanical Superintendant and keep him informed of all activities and status related to Construction and Engineering.
