Developed and ran all airport catering activities, while simultaneously overseeing the ground handling
services at the Athens International Airport, applying ISO 19001 and 2200 standard requirements.
▪ Maximized productivity, profitability, and performance by building a first-rate executive management
team; restructured operations and conducted on-going retraining of all personnel under a restricted
budget.
▪ Managed a total of 12 catering units at 12 international airports, managing 700 employees, in addition to
ground handling services and fleets at 4 airports; Led inflight services units in Greece, Switzerland, and
Italy, together with managing 100 employees and a fleet of 70 trucks and high-loaders for a subsidiary
ground handling company (AG Handling).
▪ Conducted a minimum of 5 on-the-ground audits and inspections on the overall aspects of production and
operation per week.
▪ Instrumental in turning company around from losses to profit, shifting Abela’s position to a market leader
position.
▪ Was awarded over 50 tenders for new contracts from airlines and in industrial catering

▪ Appointed interim managing director for Abela Switzerland from 2002 to 2003 at Geneva and Zurich
airports.

Trained and developed a sales team of 300 on time-sharing concepts, sales strategies, closing techniques,
and sales psychology, to moderately promote part integrated assets to the time-sharing process through
the largest holiday timeshare, Resorts Condominiums International (RCI).
▪ Boosted revenues and secured the reputation of time-share business in the region through taking the
initiative to capitalize on opportunities, including absorbing a large portfolio of clients from other resorts
after foreclosure.
▪ Co-managed various assets within the portfolio, primarily vacation resorts and large hotel chains located
in Greece and Eastern Europe.
▪ Pivotal in recovery of Bank’s distressed assets; led a team of 360 employees while actively engaging in
complex asset realization strategies, restructuring, as well as mergers and acquisitions.
▪ Effectively reversed all under performing assets, resulting in full debt recovery.
