Examine and treat animals on a first-come, first-serve basis as well as by appointment;
* Cultivate positive relationships with customers and their animals through regular communication and
excellent record-keeping;
* Prioritize traumatic injuries and serious illnesses to ensure that all animals receive time sensitive care;
* Educate clients on the importance of vaccinations, heart worm treatments, flea and tick treatments and
other aspects of preventive care;
* Handling, examining and treating all species of animals, including domestic animals ( Pets including
dogs and cats );
* Carrying out tests such as x-rays, blood samples and ultrasound scans;
* Immunising animals against different types of disease;
* Euthanising old and terminally ill animals;.
* Performing surgery, including managing anaesthesia;
* Working on out-of-hours emergency cases when on-call;
* Providing suitable paperwork for animals travelling abroad, as well as inserting identification
microchips;
* Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments;
* Prescribe medication;
* Managing diaries and organising meetings and appointments, often controlling access to the
manager/executive;
* Booking and arranging travel, transport and accommodation;
* Organising events and conferences;
* Reminding the manager/executive of important tasks and deadlines;
* Typing, compiling and preparing reports, presentations and correspondence;
* Managing databases and filing systems.
