One of the panels selected to participate in a nutrition health need assessment of
women and children in rural Egypt.
o Help to draft the action plan aimed at tackling the underreporting of stunting
prevalence rate of under5 children in Egypt.

I participated in drafting and refining the tool used to conduct the baseline assessment
of the healthcare quality improvement project (HQIP). It is a national project through a
partnership between The World Bank and The Egyptian Ministry of Health (MOHP) that
aims to raise the quality of primary health care services at 1000 primary health care
facilities at 3 phases.
o Internal validity check for the drafted tool by MOOC field audits. ( we were 2 verifiers).
o Baseline assessment. I was in charge of data collection by planned field audits of a
sample of the participating health facilities. ( Team of 5 verification officers) I
participated in 23% of the total number of field visits.
Integrated perinatal child health and nutrition program, IPHN aims at reducing
neonatal mortality and chronic malnutrition of less than 5-year children through an integrated
package of perinatal services.
A. Management and Supervision Support (40% of the time)
o Support the local health teams (Directorate, District, and FHUs) to develop monthly
plans for the program activities.
o Participate in the Governorate Committee meetings, and actively share in its activities
to make sure that the committees are well functioning and meet regularly.
o Help district teams to follow up the Performance Indicators (PIs) of concerned FHUs
and to report regularly on their performance, using data analysis for
actions/decisions support at various levels.
o Report on Program activities and results on monthly basis and communicate reports
with UNICEF office and to the Director General (DG) and senior health team in the
respective governorates
o Undertake monthly visits to a sample of the health facilities in the concerned
governorate to follow up the implementation of the Program activities
o Support FHUs’ team to monitor their performance and support them conducting a
monthly meeting between physicians, nurses, CHWs to discuss PIs.
