IT infrastructure systems architect

 Deals with complex issues as a problem manager for systems issues (UNIX, Windows & virtualization) considering systems availability, performance and stability in the first place.
 Focusing on creating and developing a driven infrastructure systems architecture that supports the current needs of the Bank using industry proven technology components that are brought together to provide resilient, highly available and scalable solutions that can be adapted to meet the changing needs of the Bank.
 Line management of the Infrastructure Systems seniors and team leaders, providing leadership, direction, guidance and opportunities.
 Development to ensure effective performance in line with the IT service objectives.
 Deals with complex people management issues as they arise, disciplinary, restructure, capability panels.
 Allocate and manage the team workload to ensure the delivery of an effective and high quality technical
support/implementation service.
 Manage and deliver adaptive technical solutions required to support the Bank systems Continuity and Disaster Recovery
plans.
 Contribute to and implement operational plans. Translate Directorate into SMART objectives, outcomes and timescales
for team members. Effectively communicate service plans to team members. Clarify individual’s roles and responsibilities.
 Act strategically to identify skills and talents required by staff groups to deliver current and future objectives. This includes interpreting new guidelines that have an impact on the learning needs of others. You can explain how learning and
development has improved the performance of the organisation.
 Ensure that resources are managed in accordance with ADIB policies, procedures and legal requirements. Schedules work
activities with clear understanding of the processes, risks and contingencies required. Shares resources with
colleagues/partners to achieve better overall Directorate outcomes.
 Allocate and delegate tasks according to skills, experience and workload. Develops team members through training,
additional responsibilities, coaching and regular feedback. Able to engage others and deal positively with resistance and
conflict.
 Manages delivery through prioritisation of tasks, effective time management and providing direction to team members.
 Displays willingness to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for
decisions; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; Makes timely decisions.
 Proven and effective experience of the management of resources in a changing organisational environment, including
human and financial resources.
 Review Infrastructure Resources Performance and initiatives for Improvement to optimize responsiveness and meet client
SLA.
 Review Vendor Support coverage/Performance to guarantee vendor support and maximize cost-cutting opportunities.
 Ensure compliance with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal policies and code of conduct in order to maintain sound legal position and mitigate any potential risks.
 Support day-to-day operations of Infrastructure services providing some guidance in the related area.
 Encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.
 Ensure proper storage performance reporting, systems capability to report issues to the management and vendors.
 Storage Resources Capacity utilization reporting to the management for capacity planning purposes.

 Support day-to-day operations of Infrastructure services providing some guidance in the related area.
 Encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.
 Ensure proper storage performance reporting, systems capability to report issues to the management and vendors.
 Storage Resources Capacity utilization reporting to the management for capacity planning purposes.
 Ensure disciplined status reporting for Storage and data protection, this will ensure competitive performance.
 Participate in department reports (Processes and Procedures, Troubleshooting charts, Life Cycle management, etc.) for
better documentation.
 Data protection software solution administration (Symantec NetBackup) and supervision by ensuring daily and monthly
backups to be taken on time without problems and to minimize the RTO for all systems specially mission critical systems.
 Advise researchers in the development of grant-required storage/data management plans.
 Encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.
 Review Infrastructure Resources Performance and initiatives for Improvement to optimize responsiveness and meet client
SLA.
 Review Vendor Support coverage/Performance to guarantee vendor support and maximize cost-cutting opportunities.
 Participates in the formulation and implementation of the Infrastructure Department strategy to ensure the alignment with
the Bank overall strategy.
 Participate and recommend improvements to department policies, processes and procedures.
 Supervises the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area carried out in an efficient
manner and in compliance with the set policies, processes and procedures.
 Ensures compliance with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal policies and code of
conduct in order to maintain sound legal position and mitigate any potential risks.
 SAN Administration by providing all SAN related activities (HW, Brocade switches administration, zoning configuration
& mapping).
 Storage administration, design, performance monitoring and HW administration for all storage types (HP LeftHand, EMC
Recoverpoint, EMC VPLEX, EMC VNX & EMC VMAX).

 Participate as a member of the Infrastructure services team and IT staff. Team's mission is to support business innovation through appropriate technology while providing a technical focus to support operations from infrastructure prospective.
 Support data center failover for disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
 Managing /administering hardware and database for Teradata engine (Data ware house engine).
 Data Center management by facilitating all HW to be installed inside the DC and responsible for its inventory by creating
and managing changes on it.
 SAN Administration by providing all SAN related activities (HW, Brocade switches administration, zoning configuration,
cabling & mapping).
 Storage administration, design, performance monitoring and HW administration for all storage types (IBM DS8000, IBM
SVC, IBM V7000, Flash storage and DS5020).
 Data Domain (Virtual tape library) administration, responsible for creating, zoning, & managing all our virtual libraries.
 Data protection software administration (NVault).
 Sybase DB administration by fine tuning for DB performance and monitoring all DBs space.
 Solaris operating system administration tasks.

 Providing Level 2 Support for the Problems forwarded by the Helpdesk team.
 Participating in the implementation of new projects as assigned by the higher management.
 Guaranteeing user satisfaction.
 Maintaining the inventory of the IT related Hardware and Software.
 Full awareness and adherence to the bank code of conduct, internal related policies and procedures, CBE regulations, AML Law and secrecy law.

Acting as system administrator for two of Egypt post applications (SQL administration).
* Providing First Level Support for the Problems forwarded by the Helpdesk team.
* Participating in new project related to my area.
