Andre is an Architect and currently part of Hyder’s Architectural team. His duties include management of site based teams, managing production of detailed document sets, coordinating between contractors, other consultants and assisting with overseeing and managing the timeous delivery of construction projects. He has over 12 years’ experience in the design and construction of a variety of architectural project types in the RSA and UAE including pre- and post-contract project delivery.

His skill-set covers design office and site based activities from design to contract completion and managing contractors, sub-consultants, in-house human resources and client management. He has developed a reputation of being proactive, decisive and professional.

Senior Architect at Tameer Towers, Abu Dhabi, UAE: A High Rise development comprising of 4 residential towers of 2x60 and 2x40 storeys on a combined podium and basement currently under construction to the value of 3 Billion Dirhams. Andre was instrumental as part of Hyder’s Lead Consulting role on post-contract project administration reporting directly to the Project Director as the last decision making authority for the architectural discipline. Reviewing contractor’s submittals, shop drawings (including structure and MEP) and responding to RFI’s while working closely with the contractor in coordinating the design completion of MEP services and structural elements. As part of the team, he did extensive work in resolving design problems and construction site issues.

He managed significant design amendments leading the architectural design team while managing on-going site construction, coordinating the site team and contractor with the design team while responding to the design amendment brief. Ensuring structural openings will be adequate for MEP services while relying on incomplete architectural design information and coordinating the structural elements to comply with local authority requirements while seeking approvals. He dealt directly with client representatives, communicating briefs to the team while managing client expectations and contributing to project feasibility studies and improving the product marketability by ensuring its relevance to changing market conditions in the revised design.

Main challenges were managing design changes during construction stage and ensuring adequate coordination between structure and MEP while responding to the client’ brief and ensuring product is relevant.
