Recent work programme included a comprehensive Business Plan for a $40m Steel Mill in Middle East detailing Investment/ROI, Operational Plan, SVC's, Marketing Plan, Product & Process specifications, Capex detail, Organisation structure, Sales and Cost Budgeting etc.

The challenge, to restart and regenerate the Dalzell and Clydebridge Steelworks, two iconic companies forming the largest Rolling Mill in the UK ($90m t/o, 220 employees) producing Reverse Steel Plate for offshore oil and gas, wind energy, tubulars, shipbuilding etc.
• Implementation of a customer-centric culture brought positive results in OTIF performance, cost reduction, leveraging new supply agreements and implementing a lean operational strategy, each a powerful indicator of employee buy-in.
• Secured £7m of government investment, signalling positive interest in our proposed Roadmap to Recovery.
• Early wins in strategic national projects with Defence Main Contractors, HS1/HS2 Rail, Offshore Wind Energy etc
• A product re-launch helped export-led sales including to stockists in USA, Netherlands, Finland, Spain, Germany.
• Translating customer expectations as delivery opportunities helped build an Order Book of £20m in 2 months.
Active member of JV Board with Outokumpu Oy, Finland and Al Hejailan family. Full P&L accountability for $35m start-up Stainless-Steel Pipe Mill, manufacturing and trading in Process Pipes & Fittings, Architectural Tubes and Plate across the Oil & Gas, Energy, Construction and Agro sectors.
•Originated a rolling 3-year plan delivering 25% annual compounded growth exceeding Shareholder expectations, asserting a dominant position in the Middle East market.
•Maintained close business relations with Saudi national and governmental agencies including SIDF, NWC, SABIC, SWCC.
•Researched and followed the opportunity for API standard Line-Pipes, particularly with Mega-projects. Customers include Bechtel, Fluor, Hyundai, NOV, PDO, ADNOC, APACHE, DNO, MAADEN, etc building a Branch Network across the GCC.
•Significantly improved operational metrics, consolidated pipe manufacture, outsourced non-core products, reduced fixed and variable costs, eliminated capacity constraints creating a world-class manufacturing environment in the Middle East.
Reported directly to the Group CEO providing P&L leadership to two manufacturing companies in Abu Dhabi, UAE
•EMIRATES FILAMENT FACTORY LLC - The largest independent Polypropylene & Nylon Yarn manufacturer in the GCC.
•A Business-turnaround success, transforming loss to positive EBITDA within 6 months, multiplying revenue 200% on an 18-month forward order book with the original team supplying Yarn to Clients in Pakistan, Libya, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and UAE.
•KNAUF EXEED FIBER INSULATION LLC - A start-up $50m/130 employee, Glasswool Insulation Company.
•Completion of a Greenfield Factory finalising Product Certification integrated ISO Standards establishing Agency Agreements across the Middle East performing to budget, finalised a JV agreement with KNAUF of Germany.
Spearheaded the engineering office for a private company managing the investment portfolio of HRH Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, including aviation, media, hotel and property assets. Represented the company as the Consulting Engineer on all capital works and O&M support services; managed high value construction projects ($500m) from inception to completion. Liaised with governmental, security and military agencies, directing international consultants, architects and contractors.
A European-wide Tissue Paper Manufacturer & Convertor (FMCG) for private-label retailers, $300m t/o. Reporting into the Board with responsibility for standardising and embedding technical standards across the Group (7 Plants. 1, 200 employees), rigorously complying with British Retail Consortium and statutory requirements.
Fulfilling an ambition for a start-up consultancy, later to morph into a Trading Company.
Collaborated with prospective clients in Europe, spending 2 years in South America developing the supply chain supported by Consulate Services and London Chamber of Commerce.
