Providing high level support to Senior Management with the organization of the maintenance and repair functions across the estate facilities including residential properties, Hotel, retail and Leisure facilities and managing the day to day running of the facilities department including client and resident liaison.
The role involves the effective maintenance and repair and upkeep of all Building Fabric, M&E equipment and HVAC plant and coordination of outsourced services contractors covering hard and soft services.
Planning effective PPM and reactive maintenance regimes, planning life-cycle replacement and establishing and maintaining cyclical maintenance programmes to ensure the estate is maintained to the highest of standards. The role also encompasses involvement with HR functions, housekeeping, security and support services

The start-up and establishment of full service Facilities and Operations and Maintenance Management for a new 5* facility incorporating Hospitality, Leisure, Wellness and residential in Doha, Qatar.
Responsible for establishing a new Facilities Management and Operations and Maintenance Department, including the drafting of all associated strategy, policy and procedures to oversee all Administrative and Operational issues across 75000m2 built space within a 5 hectare site in Doha, Qatar. I am additionally involved with the Support Services operations including food services, housekeeping (cleaning / waste management), Environmental, Fire safety and Security and Public Health

The direction, support and leadership of the Facilities Management Department. Ensuring effective and clear lines of communications with all end-users and third party tenants to ensure customer satisfaction and supplier retention.
• Reporting to the Executive Director of Operations, the direction, support and leadership of the Utilities, Operations and Maintenance, Biomedical Engineering and the Project Task Force Departments
• Direct line management responsibility for three department directors and 400 multi- disciplined and multi-national operations staff
• Directing all Technical and Administrative activities for technical services in accordance with local MNGHA policies and procedures and wider legislation including NFPA, HTM, FGI and JCI codes and standards.
• Project lead for the Facilities Management and Safety (FMS) committee during the Joint Commission International (JCI) re accreditation of a number of critical care facilities
• The introduction and subsequent implementation of the FM Manual, ensuring new facilities entered occupation in a safe, coordinated and compliant manner
• Liaison and coordination of hand over documentation from construction phases of new projects, including review of as built drawings, categorization and tagging of assets and production of asset management plans
• Chair of the tender review committee for a number of competitive tender processes
• Chair of the King Faisal Cardiovascular Centre task force
• Introduction and implementation of Control and Management of Contractors Policy
• Introduction and implementation of water monitoring Policy
• Introduction and implementation of supplier performance management
• Introduction and implementation of annual facility inspections
• Production of weekly and monthly reports

This role encompassed working with a Social Housing Authority within the Housing Planned Investment team, and managing Projects and Planned Investment Capital expenditure works across the North West Leicestershire region. Projects included:
• Undertaking a full options appraisal for the procurement of a £30m Decent Homes Improvement programme over a three year Contract period 2012 - 2015
• Undertaking options appraisal and full administrative duties within the OJEU procurement process for various capital expenditure schemes including fire alarm system upgrades, boiler replacement programmes and lift replacement schemes to demonstrate appropriate building solutions are procured within European legislative guidelines.
• Full management and administration of all planning and building control related matters in connection with roof replacement programmes and other capital expenditure programmes for complex multi-year programmes.
• Lead on the development of a full ISO 9001 compliant Quality Management System for the Service aimed at driving up service delivery standards and ensuring that a professional benchmark is established for the entire department.
• Providing professional advice on technical matters to colleagues, senior management and customers and ensuring that such matters are translated into an understandable and clear project briefs as appropriate.
• Lead on Issue and risk management and lead on the development of change management and document management procedures to accord with departmental requirements.

My role at the M&O Group of Companies included the pro-active involvement in a number of various projects and across a number of various buildings providing professional advice and assistance over the following main areas:
• Buildings and engineering services - both installations and maintenance.
• Project Manager for the specialist installation of Mammography, X-Ray, Gamma Camera, Radionuclide Imaging facilities, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, PET Imaging and Computerised Tomography equipment for a number of Healthcare sector clients.
• Major fit out and office refurbishment for the Institute Of Hepatology London.
• Full PM responsibility for a number of high profile Healthcare schemes on behalf of University College Hospitals London, University Hospitals Leicester and the Royal Victoria Hospital, Newcastle
• Fast track Specialist Healthcare Fit Out schemes
• Assessment of Energy use and forward planning for energy efficiency programmes

This position included full Project Management responsibility, principally Client Side and included secondments across various sectors, including retail, FMCG, defence and Education with clients including Tesco, PepsiCo International, The Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Open University. Work included:
• Full project management & Health and Safety Management on a secondment basis working with the Open University and including value engineering schemes, developing of the client brief including consultations with end user representatives, senior members of staff including academic and administrative staff. Schemes were diverse in range and included new build, refurbishment, alteration and fit-out
• Working with the Open University on both Major and Intermediate Projects and Major Capital expenditure works across most faculties on the Milton Keynes campus.
• Compliance monitoring of in house service providers and external contractors including monitoring of quality of service, setting benchmarks, measuring KPIs and ensuring services provision accord with Service level agreements.
• Project Management of numerous fast track FMCG sector projects for PepsiCo International, Noble foods and Campbells. Schemes ranged in value from £10k to £65m and included new build, major refurbishment, alteration and fit-out projects
• Spatial management and efficient utilisation audits including energy conservation and energy management
Completed projects:
• Facilities & Project Management works on behalf of the Open University.
• National supermarket chain (Tesco) - UK wide expansion programme - construction and maintenance management - 18 month secondments.
• Project Manager on Asbestos removals, ground remediation and demolition works on behalf of a Leicestershire based Healthcare Trust
• Energy and Environmental audits and EMS implementation to ISO 14001 accreditation
• Energy monitoring and assessment and establishment of carbon footprints for various clients.

Engaged as Building Manager on the Coventry New Hospitals project, constructed and operated under the Private Finance Initiative (PFI). The Project was valued in the order of £460M and was operated by the Skanska Construction Group Limited. I held full operational responsibility under senior representatives in the Management Department ensuring compliant handover of the new facilities from construction to operation and maintenance in line with all associated Health Building Notes (HBN) and Health Technical Memoranda (HTM).
A key role with Skanska was developing and implementing a Special Projects division aimed at maintaining and developing the facilities to accommodate technological future advancement.
