Responsible for coordinating and supervising all the functions in the Clinical Laboratory. Has a thorough knowledge of the test requirements and performs Clinical Laboratory tests. Responsibilities include hematology, chemistry, serology and immunology, clinical microscopy and phlebotomy. Performs venipuncture and skin punctures competently and expediently.
Job Responsibilities:

Underwent comprehensive training for the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of various analyzers such as the Cobas Integra 400 plus, Cobas e411, Cobas u411, Cobas b 121 (Omni C), Coagulyzer 2 and Hemolyzer 5.
Performs equipment validations, calibrations, maintenance and quality control and troubleshoot analyzers featuring latest technology on the market.
Participated in the preparation of the laboratory for the HAAD inspection/accreditation.
Updates policies and procedures and standard operating procedures.
Responsible for accurate quality control documentation. Takes charge of the over-all quality control analysis to monitor the accuracy and reliability of the laboratory test procedures and maintains records on these checks and takes remedial action when necessary.
Performs phlebotomy in in-patients and out-patients with specialty in pediatric patients.
Consistently draws blood competently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as
possible and records phlebotomy requisitions in logbook.
Labels and records all test tubes, logs procedures and arranges laboratory files as per HAAD requirement.
Follows Standard Precautions at all times.
Responsible for the monthly laboratory stocks and inventory. Order supplies when needed.
Disposes sharps and waste properly in the proper waste containers as per Infection Control Policy and Procedure.
Completes duties in a time efficient manner, knows how to prioritize STAT orders, ASAP orders, scheduled orders and outpatients.
Demonstrates the value of team concept on a consistent basis.
Does clerical work when needed.

This includes the examination of data, the creation of reports, the management of staff and liaising with internal and external clients. Performs phlebotomies, performs tasks and or complex tests in all areas of the laboratory assigned, prepares specimens and analyzing the chemical and hormonal contents of blood, urine, stool and other body fluids utilizing protocols and technical knowledge, and prepares slides of body cells and performs special staining techniques for review and evaluation by the clinical pathologist. Always verifies that the proper specimen is being analyzed for the proper patient and for the indicated test procedure.

Performs glucose level, lipid profile, kidney & liver function tests, cardiac & liver enzymes, electrolyte and chemical analysis of other body fluids such as urine & pleural fluid, using different automated machines.
Performs tumor marker test such as CA 125, CA 153, CA 19-9, CA 72.4, MCA, CEA AFP, BHCG, PSA using MEIA method.
Performs thyroid function test such as T3, T4, FT3
