As a projects developer, the mandate is to develop an industrial cluster in various fields. However, my focus is on the pharmaceutical industry and how it can be developed and improved upon to enhance the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products in Saudi. Since it is a new cluster within the program, the main focus is to research and gather information about the industry globally and locally. Phase I included a feasibility study that determined whether establishing an industry in KSA is logical. Phase II was much more thorough as it involved specifying various opportunities which can be pursued to achieve a set criteria and also how can we integrate these opportunities into our current existing industry effectively. This phase included: business plans, financial models, human capital and location assessments, legal assessment, supply-chain management, incentives, investment vehicles and project governance.
In addition to being involved in an automotive project, which is a mega-project that the program is undertaken to develop an automotive industry in Saudi Arabia. Also, spending a brief period working on various chemical and plastic projects that would complement the development of different industries by localizing significant parts of its value chain.

The Mckinsey&Company experience:
As per the agreement between NICDP and Mckinsey, I spent the first five months training at Mckinsey in a tailored fellowship program.
Catalogue of experiences:
 Introduced to pharmaceutical industry including overview, market size, dynamics and trends;
 Developed core consulting skills (e.g. problem solving, chart creation, presentation exercises);
 Developed knowledge in business (e.g. finance, marketing, strategy and operations).
