Supervises the work of employees involved in performing routine to major automotive mechanical or body repair work.
Advises employees as to the selection of appropriate repair or maintenance procedures and assists on difficult assignments; inspects work in progress and upon completion.
To establish, implement and maintain effective procedures and administrative systems including
day-to-day financial administration and contributing to administrative planning for the function.
Ensure parts are ordered in a timely manner and stock is kept at required levels and fully
accounted for.
Ensure all vehicle workshop health and safety policies and procedures are followed and all
necessary records are kept.
Supervising all the repari and maintenance of Heavy equipments, Lanscape machines, Generators, Trucks, Passenger buses, etc

Roles & Responsibilities
• Verify all the maintenance records and vehicle records to see that those are kept up regularly and up to date. The vehicle log sheets should be checked with the nature of works carried out in respect of each report complaint and the correctness of handling.
• Monitoring the breakdown, find out the correct reason of break down and corrective and disciplinary action taken. Recommending suitable remedies also
• Monitoring maintenance programs like Daily maintenance, weekly maintenance, monthly maintenance, fuel maintenance and tyre maintenance. Maintaining the vehicles in sound mechanical condition
• Analyzing the vehicle position and intimating off road or accidents etc to the concerned authority in time.
• Should re-arrange the required numbers of vehicles for the daily operation of the normal schedules are available to avoid cancellation.
• Ensure all the servicing repair and maintenance are carried out in correct manner and no buses long detained for want of units or repair keep good liaison with workshop.
• Conduct regular test checks and surprise inspection of month night shifts in the depots and improve the quality of work.
• The garage floor premises should be arranged to be kept clean. The scrap materials accumulating in the depot should be arranged to be sent to workshop.
• Exercise control over the issue and use of tools, lubricants and materials of all kinds and local purchase of materials and control over the man power utilization.
• Check the driving habits of the drivers, advise and correct and scientific handling immediately.

Block setting of the dock using docking plan of the floating crafts.

Analyzing the condition of navigational light buoys and other port equipments.

Analyzing the renewal of base and body plates of different floating crafts and barges.
Making a detailed report of work status in different floating crafts and other port equipments in the department.
Studied the procedure involved in the fabrication of different parts like flanges & gaskets.
Done the detailed analyses of fiber glass and fender works on the body of floating crafts and submitted the work progress report to the Asst. Engineer in the department.
