Comprehensive Job Description:
Ø Gives proper nursing care to patient during Examination.
Ø Take vital information of patient as well as the vital signs.
Ø Inform Physician of all data gathered.
Ø Assist Physician during Examination.
Ø Carry out all Physician's Order such as laboratory investigation, oral and parenteral medication and steam inhalation.
Ø Assess patient before, during and after medication.
Ø Check all stocks before and after rounds. Endorse to next NOD.
Description:
* Gives direct nursing care
* Identifies nursing needs of the patients
* Plans, implements and discharge patient as per hospital policy.
* Performs such nursing activities as administering oral and parenteral medication, wound dressing, bathing and oral hygiene, etc.
* Administer and chart medication given and patients reaction to medication.
* Assist in transferring patient from bed to wheelchair, bed to stretcher maintaining proper body mechanics and safety of the patient.
* Takes and record vital signs. To make a proper referral for any abnormal findings.
* Do proper charting as per hospital policies on the patient conditions.
* Observes signs and symptoms. Institute remedial action when appropriate and record these on charts.
* Reports observation to the physician.
* Observes and responds to patient's emotional and spiritual needs.
* Acts as liaison between patients and hospital personnel.
* Interprets to the patients and significant others their role in promoting successful therapy and rehabilitation.
* Prepares patient for and assist physician when examining the patient and with the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
* Prepares patient preoperatively per doctor's order and hospital policy.
* Carries out doctor's orders properly.
* Performs irrigation, catheterization and enemas.
* Receives and endorses ward equipment and supplies.
* Sees to it that equipment receives proper care and maintenance.
* Perform post mortem care.
* Teaches and directs non professional nursing personnel.
* Acts as a charge nurse when delegated.
* Gives health teaching to patient and significant others in regards to illness, medication and recovery. In addition, orient patient and significant others regarding hospital policies and procedures.
* Maintain good relationship with other hospital personnel.
* Attends meeting and conferences.
* Observes confidentiality concerning patient's identity and status of care.
