Key Functions:
• Plan, manage, and oversee the daily functions, operations, and activities of maintenance and engineering Operation for the vertically integrated process plant.
• Develops and standardizes procedures and methods to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of engineering services, projects, and activities; identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Play a lead role with initiating all capital improvement projects/programs, including defining the project scope, identifying internal and external stakeholders, identifying a project manager, and developing a project charter;
Key Functions/Actions:
• Primarily responsible for managing Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC and utilities department.
• Developing, coordinating, and implementing the aims and objectives of strategies and policies to reduce production down times and energy consumption
• Lead maintenance of plant equipment with full compliance of Health, Safety and Environment standards.
• Improved over all energy utilization and improved infrastructure by initiating and completing Building management system (Schneider), Bus bar trunking for power distribution, Anti-microbial Fabric ducting for air conditioning, LED based lighting(saved around 100 KWH), Intelligent air distribution system, WWTP operation etc.
• Installed Waste Heat Recovery system on Exhaust and Jacket water of Gas power generation (which added 400 USRT in air conditioning system of 1200 USRT)
• Build a professional team comprises of 6 Professional Engineers for future leadership.
• Shifted preventive, corrective and data logging and its reporting on ERP
• Preparing specifications, drawings and tender documents for building services, improvement or plant replacement work, including obtaining statutory approvals.
Mainly responsible for engineering and project management of a new and state of the art textile manufacturing facility (Spinning Unit, 1st Phase 17, 000 spindles).
I lead a team for complete electrical power generation(4 MW on gas) and its distribution network to the machines.(Both HT/LT power), Installation of Lighting system, Reverse Osmosis Plant, a 10 MW furnace oil based power plant(backup), Fire Hydrant system, compressed air and water distribution system for the plant. Electrical distribution to staff to colony, Fibre Optic based CCTV System etc. The plant started production in record time of 11 month.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and supervise engineering activities to achieve plant maintenance and reliability targets.
2. Co ordinate, plan and implement improvement in resource utilization and energy conservation.
3. Prepare, monitor and control overall budget for expenditure for related department.
4. Ensure that adequate, competent, and trained resources are available within the department.
5. To ensure compliance to Safety Health & Environment related matters.
6. Maintain computerized maintenance database of all plant machinery, equipment and ancillaries.
Our team has built new fully automated Italian tile manufacturing Plants.(Porcelain & Wall). My responsibilities in this project were to independently look after all Electrical & Power -generation and other utility activities.
Electrical / Electronics
o Installation of PLC s, Process Instruments & Analyzers, Centralized Energy Analysis & management Systems, MV/LV switch gears and distribution, CCTV & Fire Alarm systems.
o installation & commissioning of Continuous Ball Mills, Spray Dryers, Hydraulic Presses, Laser
guided vehicles, Roller Kilns, Polishing and automatic sorting lines
o Vendor’s supervision (ICF & Welko SPA, Siemens Pakistan, Areva T & D & Techno Ferrari spa)
Power Generation, Co Generation & Utilities
o Feasibility, scheduling, civil work and installation of Power generation plant (9 MW) with co generation/Waste Heat Recovery using Hot water chiller (300 RT)
o Installation of air compressors, Energy efficient water & air distribution network, HVAC System
o Vendor’s supervision (Allied Engineering, AVS, KSB, Cogen consult, Alliance Engg., BEW)
1. To Plan and implement all electrical and instrumentation related functions.
2. Successfully completed a self power generation plant (4.5 MW) with 3x 3516C CAT gas Engines
1. Plan, organize, execute and evaluate all electrical and utilities related activities and operations.
2. Projects lead and successfully completed include installation of Switch Gears, VFDs, 1 MW Gas engine, Gas Fired Absorption chiller and HVAC System, Air Compressors, Heat Recovery System, Lighting System, Waste Water R.O, CCTV installation, Emergency Exit system etc
1. Electrical designing, PLC programming and HMI development of a high-speed mini storage (HSMS) for mini assembly factory.
2. Development of test applications for various parts of the mini assembly factory. (e.g. Robot Gripper, Vibratory feeder etc)
1. Installation, commissioning and maintenance of DCS based Compact disc (CD) manufacturing plants.
2. Troubleshooting of PCBs, motors and drives PLCs, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, sensors and other control instruments.
