Promoted to Global Role to improve service delivery on long term contracts, financial performance and performance management of Global Finance Hubs, which serves Key Global Contracts.
I was assigned with responsibility for group strategic initiative of Centralization of core finance processes across Inchcape’s network 300 offices globally. This involved creation of Finance Shared Service Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Global Finance Hub’s: Key accounts serviced through 3 centers globally, involving a team of 80, generating $1.4b cash throughput and annual $15m in revenue. It involves managing contracts for 15 key clients from putting bids together, financial plan, renewal bids, delivery, SLA management, reporting and alliance review meetings.
Global DA Center (GDC): Centralization of complex billing process (Disbursement Accounts, the cash engine) for global port agency business managed out of 50+ countries, involving 200+ resources with receivable impact of $750m annually. The first in the series of various financial processes planned for centralization.
Promoted in 2010, to lead the finance function for 35 legal entities in 28 countries and to replicate the strong performance of ME&I region to other regions, across Africa, Asia Pacific, and Australasia - Revenue $180m. Role comprised managing a team of 110 + staff, including 4 Regional CFOs and a Financial Controller.
Entrusted to lead financial operation of 13 legal entities in 9 countries across Middle East & India with combined revenue of $100m. Role comprised managing a team of 60 + staff, including 10 Finance Managers and Regional Financial Controller.
Key focus areas along with controllership and regular finance functions included, business development support, financial strategy, revenue models in sync with ethics, internal controls, acquisitions & startups.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review and management of existing entities & shareholdings, business allocations and revenue models with a view to maximize group share bottom line.
• Support Region head in strengthening the regional team, including identification and assimilation of nonexistent HR and business development function.
• Assumed additional regional leadership responsibilities, which included providing tactical support for high-maintenance country business managers, IT, procurement and HR function.
• Setting up of a comprehensive business performance and measurement dashboard to govern rapid growth in business and track pipeline conversions.
• Provide strategic and tactical leadership for finance teams, in addition to mentoring star performers.
• Financial and contract management for defense and security support services as part of Government services vertical.
Promoted in year 2000 to the position of Financial Controller for supporting growing business in Kuwait and new Iraq setup. Setting up of operations in Iraq during 2003 proved as a stepping-stone for venturing into wider ISS Global platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reorganizing and rebuilding finance function with fresh talent, which later provided talent pool beyond country and region level to the group.
• Managing accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, audit, taxation, payroll along with support to unit and business head as a proactive business partner.
• Managing local partner (shareholders) interaction, company secretary functions, legal, IT, procurement & HR Support.
• Gained exposure in internal audits, costing and budget function at unit level post training; successfully implemented ISO 9001 and attained certification for the unit’s manufacturing process
