Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis, requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times.

•Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards with regards to IQAMA and BALADIYA.

•Conducts tests such as VIROLOGY, Malarial Smear, and MICROBIOLOGY.


•Performs quality control checks on instruments and equipment and identifies mechanical problems and either performs the necessary adjustments or conducts maintenance.

•Compiles experimental and analytical data. Prepares reports. Analyzes and discusses results and their interpretation with others. Maintains records and files.

•Ensure that subordinate staff properly performs assigned responsibilities.

•Communicates and coordinates with staff and doctors regarding lab resources and procedures, including waste disposal, and ensuring guidelines are adhered to.

•Plans, coordinates, and recommends facility changes and equipment needs to include: researching new products and technology; communicating with internal departments, communicating with outside vendors; making recommendations for purchases; and ordering products.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•Identification of infectious disease processes.
•Recognize limitation and advantages of types of tests used to diagnose infection processes.
•Recognize epidemiologically significant organisms for immediate review and investigation.
•Implementation of employee health surveillance programs that are able to detect sub clinical infection.
•Identify indications for all department specially Microbiology.
•Implementation of infection prevention and control related policies, procedures and guidelines.

Daily and Monthly Activates
•Daily round of all departments with check list ensure proper disposal of hazardous wastes.
•Daily check on hospital pest control team.
•Daily check on each run of sterilization procedure by commercially available spores, indicators and generation of monthly report with biomedical team.
•To rule out contamination and potential nosocomial pathogen by weekly check of all departments e.g. OT, ER, ENT, Dental, Gynecology & Dermatology etc. by taken culture from environment, equipment’s and commonly used fluid materials. Data is further used for interpretation of routine microbiological investigation.
•Reporting of infection disease cases to Ministry of health Saudi Arabia with all the available information’s like identify occurrences, reservoirs, incubation periods, periods of communicability, mode of transmission, sign and symptoms and susceptibility associated with the disease process and keeping the record both hard copies and as well as in soft copies which is further used to generate monthly report. These cases include Tuberculosis, Malaria, Measles, Mumps, influenzae etc.
•Community Acquired MRSA identification, protocol implementation and reporting to Ministry of health team for further follow up in desire camp areas.
•Employee health surveillance program.
•Implementing needle stick injuries protocols.
•Maintaining and implementation of vaccination records for all medical staff.
•Implementation of laboratory associated infection control.
•Weekly and monthly schedule fumigation in all departments including laboratory especially Microbiology department insight of contamination report of infection control team.
•All hospitals and Poly clinics are bond to report surveillance and epidemiological data to Ministry of Health Saudi Arabia. Each encounter infectious agents is reported along with prescribe form for infectious control with all available information.
•Monthly incident report generation, to monitor increase or decrease in rate of infection and send report to Ministry of Health.
•For both inpatients and kingdom entry medical cases, weekly and monthly reporting of Malaria negative cases along with slides to department of Malaria MOH Saudi Arabia.
•Laboratory results analysis and interpretation by using laboratory information system.
•Conduct weekly meeting to discuss incident reports with the problem solving approach, new implementations according to meeting outcomes.
•Conducting trainings (CME) and lectures on infection control and biosafety to insure safe work environments.
