Duties performed,



Finance
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements in accordance with IFRS &
LKAS for publication.
• Monitoring day-to-day General Ledger, Accounts payable & receivable accounts.
• Ensures the prompt collection of accounts receivable and availability of funds.
• Supervise reconciliation of inter-company accounts.
• Coordinating External & internal audit and annual report for publication.
• Track actual expenses and versus budget, forecast, historical figures and analyse fluctuations.
• Inspecting Service charge schedule for distribution among the staff.
• Advises the GM and other executives on existing and evolving operating/financial issues.
• Implementing and streamlining the internal control procedures covering all activities of the hotel.


Taxation
• Preparation of taxation schedules which are submit returns to government authorities
Eg VAT, NBT, TDL, ESC, Stamp Duty.
• Preparation of Income Tax, Differed Tax & Deemed Dividend calculation
• Attend the interview with the department of Inland Revenue


Operational
• Provides leadership by assigning team members clear accountability backed by appropriate authority.
• Liaise with all revenue generating departments on their operating procedures so as to achieve effective internal control to ensure all the hotel’s revenue is being recognized and recorded.
• Supervise the Cost Controller in auditing the operation of Purchasing Division.
• Liaise with Purchasing Department on the operating procedures so as to achieve effective internal control to minimize costs.
• Supervise the All Accounting Staff in all the tasks in the month end closing and to check the financial reports before forwarding for review by the Financial Controller.
• Supervise the Credit Executive in ensuring that all the precautionary measures have been implemented and all the outstanding debts are collected on a timely basis to minimize bad debts as far as possible.




Administration
• Conduct Accounting & Finance Meeting to ensure that all meetings are well planned, efficient and results oriented.
• Set guidelines and deadline dates for each employee’s monthly work in order to ensure timely financial reporting.
• Ensure that an organized, up-to-date filing system is maintained for all pertinent financial records
• Organize the accounting office in conjunction with the Financial Controller:
-to distribute work to employees on an equitable basis.
-to schedule and introduce flexible job functions through job rotation.
-to ensure that all employees do understand fully and adhere to the hotel’s employee rules and regulations as well as to the hotel’s policies.
• To ensure the smooth operation of the Accounting and Cost Control during the absence of the Financial Controller.


General
• Maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff in the outlet and all other departments.
• Attend and contribute to all staff meetings Departmental and Hotel Training as scheduled and other related activities.
