Reviewed the sales volumes of hummus produced by and external company, briefed the NPD teams to match this product at half the cost. Re -launched Spinneys hummus 200g pots with improved design. Today Spinneys factory produces 4 tones a day of this item to service 65 stores. Carried out numerous cost saving exercise on raw materials yields and sourcing locally versus import lines. Standardized the library of import lines to increase the volume purchased at a reduced cost. Saved Spinneys in Excess of 150 000AEDs per month. Successfully rationalized the bakery / meat and deli lines to ensure what was produced maintained sustainable sales and then initiated promotional lines into the product mix. Successfully managed relationships with cross functional teams and factory on site teams to ensure long term business growth and profitability.

Successfully negotiated 2-5% increase year on year on contractual agreements with Pepsi, Coca cola, Barakat, Modern bakery among others to increase rebate category returns. Planed annual category promotions, agreed MOQ’s and sale or returns terms for these promotions to ensure category loss was minimal while displays were always attractive. Imported unique lines (organic/ clean label/ international brands not available in other retailers) at the correct MOQ/ Shelf life and cost to ensure the category offered a unique option to the customer. Rationalized each product line per store to keep only the correct size of packs and the correct brands customers required. Saved cost by importing mixed containers from an agreed port. Linked suppliers in the same region to work together to fill a container.

Introduced training manuals for in store food handling staff and specifications for all suppliers to spinneys to ensure quality was uniform across all sectors of fresh foods.
