To ensure availability of the following documents at work location.
a. Approved Drawing and Specification of latest revision.
b. Quality Plans - authorized & endorsed with signature & company stamp.
c. Applicable approved Welding Procedure Specification WPS.
To check Equipment’s & Instruments to be used are in good operating condition. Review Calibration / Validation Certificates, to ensure their use within due dates and duty cycle.
To check cutting method and monitor cutting operations.
To inspect joint preparation for appearance and dimensions.
To inspect Fit-up for alignment both, linear and angular; using appropriate inspection aids.
To monitor consumables in use for storage, handling & condition.
To monitor that all welding variables are maintained within WPS specified range, during welding.
To check availability and adequacy of Weld Identification.
To perform visual examination of completed weld joint using appropriate inspection aid.
To review all NDE reports to identify relevant imperfections and evaluate with acceptance standard.
To give repairs for defects. Ensure availability of approved repair procedure and qualified repair welder, to attend repair. Witness systematic removal of defect and refilling. Offer for Re-NDT of repair area.
Job Responsibilities: Pre-fabrication inspection:
Perform material receiving inspection of structural members i.e. Beam, Column, Channel fasteners and welding consumables according to purchase order, MTC and TPI documents.
Witness dimensional inspection of fit-up parts, bearing surfaces hole, hard stamping and straightness of Steel Structures.
Verification of welder qualification and welding parameters.
Conduct final weld visual and dimensional inspection of fabricated structures before galvanizing and painting.
Perform final visual inspection of the fabricated & coated structure.
Prepare daily and weekly inspection reports, IRC and IRN.
Review all certificates related to material receiving, galvanizing and painting inspection.
Prepare Weekly welding status and report to PSAL and Saudi Aramco.
Field Inspection:
Conduct material receiving inspection for fabricated structures, structural shapes, bolts, nuts and washers based on PO, MR, IRN, IRC and MTC conformance to project specification.
Perform structural alignment inspection prior to grouting.
Conduct pre-installation procedure verification testing as per AISC using tension calibrator.
Ensure the tightening of joints that are designated in the drawing e.g.: Snug-tight, pretensioned and slip-critical.
Perform high strength bolt tightening inspection as per required torque value by using calibrated wrench and DTI washer technique.
Verify calibration of welding machines, tension calibrator and calibrated wrench.
Perform access structure installation inspection for MOV platform and other access platforms.
Perform weld visual inspection of structural modification and field grating opening.
Conduct regular surveillance and inspection at project site to ensure that any discrepancy will be observe and rectified before it is notice by the client representative.
Issue non-conformance report (NCR) for any unsatisfactory or noncompliance of standards and specification observed at site for resolution and to refrain recurrence.
Perform mainline mechanized fit up, in process and post welding inspection of 36” CS Pipe (API 5L X65- 31.8mm) based on WPS, international standard (ASME) & Saudi Aramco requirements. (Serimax welding equipment’s).
Perform temperature tie in welding inspection.
Review welding consumable control procedure and perform welding consumable receiving inspection with relevant QC documents and records.
Conduct control of welding consumables inspection. Verify storage, conditioning and exposure of low hydrogen electrode shall conform to A5.1
Verify rod oven, portable oven calibration and welding consumable issuance record.
Organize and witness the welding equipment’s calibration conducted by Saudi Aramco approved 3rd Party.
Conduct periodic tool box talk meeting to each welding crew to increase the weld quality by applying proper weld parameters.
Review NDT (AUT & RT) reports and find out the weld repair location.
Evaluate welders based on his welding performance/Welding repair rate
Prepare and review of welding procedure specification as per the project material specification and line class requirements.
Witness welder qualification test with approved 3rd party and review test documents.
Prepare job clearance card (JCC) according to WPQT, submit to Saudi Aramco for final issuance.
Monitor initial three production weld of contractor welder to determine their ability to make sound welds.
Perform fit up, in process and post weld visual inspection of piping spool and structural welding prefabrication.
Perform welding consumable receiving inspection with relevant QC documents and records.
Prepare weekly welding status and report to Saudi Aramco.
Familiar in SAUDI ARAMCO QMIS system.
Preparation of Inspection test plans (ITP), quality plans and work procedures.
Coordination of inspection activities like raw material inspection, stage inspection and final inspection.
Perform shop floor and site inspection based on ITP sequence.
Perform inspection of pre-fabricated piping spool.
Conduct pre-welding, in process and post welding inspection based on WPS.
Stage & Final Inspection, Welding & Dimensional check.
Ensure the material traceability & reviewing of MTCs & lab test reports.
Preparation of Weld Map (marking of joints) on Isometric drawings.
Preparation of weld summary/line inspection summary list.
Review and checking of WPS, PQR & WQT as per ASME SEC IX.
Visual inspection of weldments and perform PT & MT.
Monitor all NDT and reviewing of RT films as per codes & specifications.
Hydrostatic /Pneumatic/Water fills test inspection and preparation of the test reports.
Preparation of complete QA/QC Dossier.
Interpret and review of engineering drawings.
Preparation of quality plans, work procedures and Inspection Test Plans.
Coordination of inspection activities like raw material inspection, stage inspection and final inspection.
Preparation of test packages for hydrostatic testing.
Review of NDE reports such as RT, DPT, MPT, UT and RT film interpretations.
Inspection of piping fabrication as per isometric drawings.
Verification of as built drawings & to maintain its log.
Prepare final documentation for test packages.
Preparation of final dossiers and hand over to client.
Perform weld visual inspection for shop fabricated items and weld built-up inspection.
Improving production quality by conducting regular and periodic inspections.
Cutting plan to minimize scrap and controlling of scrap generation.
Increase productivity by using proper plan.
Monitoring of daily rejection and rework and taking corrective action.
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical.
