Geophysicist Specialist at ADNOC/KADOC, Al Dhafra Petroleum
  • United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi
  • My current job since January 2015

Spearheaded as Geophysicist Specialist the Al Dhafra Petroleum’s onshore and offshore concessions; Dhafra-Mushash, Haliba, Mandous,
BuDana fields and border areas and maintained stringent follow up on the seismic interpretation, data gathering, seismic processing e.g.
Pre-Stack-Depth-Migration (PSMD).
 Acted as a Focal Point of Contact for Dhafra-Mushash field; Conducted seismic interpretation, seismic well tie, seismic attribute
generation and analysis, structural interpretation, paleo-structure, velocity modeling, depth conversion, uncertainty analysis, volumetrics
calculation of the “Wasia‟ group target reservoirs (Tuwayil Clastic, Shilaif, Mauddud), appraisal well location and presentation to
Shareholders.
 Developed, in collaboration with ADNOC, a model based deterministic post-stack seismic inversion of Tuwayil Clastic reservoir, using
Hampson Russel software to improve the reservoir delineation and characterization and optimize well location. It will be presented at the
ADIPEC in an ongoing SPE paper.
 Made vital contribution in the preparation of Dhafra-Mushash field optimized drilling campaign integrated schedule with different
scenarios; aggressive, moderate and conservative.
 Worked as a Geosciences Skill Pool Advisor (SPA), Assessor and verifier in ADNOC Competence Assurance Management System
(CAMS) and established a valid, reliable CAMS with standards in place within Al Dhafra Petroleum.
 Coached and mentored a National Geophysicist during 1 year on the complete seismic interpretation study, CAMS training program, final
career ladder assessment and promotion.
 Contributed to EXPRIS Data Management planning for future implementation in Al Dhafra Petroleum.
 Participated to the (2016-2020) Business Plan & Budget Preparation outline for the Shareholders.

Principal Geoscientist at Schlumberger
  • United Arab Emirates
  • January 2012 to January 2014

Conducted several professional geosciences courses during the period 1996-2014;
o On Geophysics, Seismic Visualisation & Interpretation, Seismic Well Ties, Velocity Modeling, Seismic Attributes, Play to
Prospect Exploration, Quantitative Interpretation, Geology, Mapping, Well Correlation, Property Modeling, Well Design,
Geosteering.
o For different Oil and Gas Companies including KGOC, ADNOC, ADCO, ZADCO, ADMA, ADOC, Mubadala, Dragon Oil,
PDO, BG, Tallow, Daleel, OXY, RasGas, Safer, TOTAL, etc.
o In various locations across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat, Doha, Yemen, France, Norway, etc.
 Carried out geophysics study "Delineation and Extraction of Karst and collapse features occurring in overburden to early Cretaceous
reservoirs of Giant Carbonate Field Offshore Abu Dhabi". It resulted in an SPE paper presented at ADIPEC in collaboration with ZADCO.
 Received an “Outstanding” appreciation letter, for conducting three weeks training for Kuwait Gulf Oil Company-KGOC on Geophysics
(Seismic interpretation, Seismic Well tie, Velocity modelling, and Seismic attributes) using Petrel, NExT- Abu Dhabi.
 Successfully managed the first Real Time Operation Center (RTOC) project in ADCO as Geoscientist lead, with the objective to centralize
multi-disciplinary collaboration centre where geoscience and drilling data is collected and analysed to optimize overall drilling
performance, planning, geosteering, and reduce risk, non-productive time and cost.
 Elected during three successive years as Worldwide Schlumberger Geophysics Interpretation Leader, in the technical community program
"Eureka" - the main Schlumberger knowledge management component. Managed accountabilities of elevating the technical knowledge of
the Geoscience community through workshops, webinars, mentoring, and coaching.
 Acted as one of the jury in Schlumberger Reservoir Characterization Symposium and BUILD-IT school that consist of assessing petrotechnicals
on the technical content of their presented projects, proposed solutions, presentation skills, and individual performances.
 Played a stellar role in ADMA Best Initiative Scheme “Streamline Geophysics & Geology, Simulation & Drilling Workflow to reach
optimum well placement”.
 Successfully accomplished the Petrel Studio Knowledge and Database project that was successfully implemented in PetroChina-Dubai.

Senior Geoscientist Consultant at Schlumberger
  • United Arab Emirates
  • January 2008 to January 2011

Developed a full workflow solution for time to depth conversion using all horizontal & vertical wells over the Rumaitha/Shanayel/Al
Dabbiya development field-ADCO. Worked on geophysical interpretation and advanced velocity modelling and depth conversion in Petrel.
 Instrumental in building the structural and geological model of the lower reservoir “Uweinat”, combine it with the existing upper reservoir
model “Thamama” and preserve the existing structural interpretation, mainly faults, simulation results and oil in place - Bunduq field.
 Developed an innovative solution to create a pseudo 3D seismic cube from 2D seismic lines, and benefit from 3D seismic attribute analysis
and make full use of 2D seismic information, while managing a consultancy project for ADCO.
 Instrumentally resolved a challenge of well tops mismatch with the shallow structure while drilling for Munbarraz field. Built velocity
model using a new approach that allows ADOC to be more confident with well landing depth and geosteer accurately in the horizontal path.
 Developed a workflow solution "Well Planning, 3D Real Time Geosteering and Drilling” using Petrel. This was implemented successfully
for the first time in ADMA- Zakum field which resulted in an SPE paper and won an Innovation award from ADMA's General Manager

Geosciences Team Lead at Schlumberger
  • United Arab Emirates
  • January 2005 to January 2007

Managing the geosciences team, and entire end to end geosciences project and operational activities, including planning, budgeting,
execution and accomplishment, ensuring adherence to standard protocols to achieve operational excellence, whilst contributing to the
creation of a culture of strong and effective team-work.
 Reviewed seismic interpretation, built velocity model using 2D stacking velocities, VSP, Checkshot, velocity map and depth conversion in
Petrel whilst working on a geophysics project for ADOC-Mubaraz field.
 Developed Water Saturation model and maps for several zones of the reservoir based on porosity trend using Petrel.
 Acted as a Geoscience technical lead in the first integrated seismic-to-simulation interpretation project in RasGas --Qatar.
