Royal Group is a conglomerate of 60 large and medium sized companies’ based in Abu Dhabi.
The Group has business activities in all major sectors like finance, manufacturing, real estate, hospitality, technology and media. Launched in late 1990's, Royal Group currently employs over 15, 000 people and is supported through its head office in the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi. The Chairman of the group is His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Within Group HR Department, my responsibilities are :

1) HR Audits :

In charge of the HR internal Audits within the 60 subsidiaries of Royal Group, according to annual Audit Plan or as per Ad Hoc Requests from Head Office Senior Management:

- Liaise with HR and Finance Departments of the audited companies in order to obtain the required information or documentation.

- Analysis of the documents and records in order to assess compliance with legal requirements and Group HR Procedures : pre-employment, manpower planning and budget, internal approvals, payroll processes, leaves, increases and promotions, terminations, employee’s files documentation, visas and labor approvals, medical insurance, benefits.

- On-site Audit: systematic verification or random check of files and records - Interviews with HR and Finance Departments.

- Redaction of HR Audit Summary (list of findings, risks and recommendations) and HR Audit report shared with company’s management and Group Senior Management.

Industries: Schools, VIP hospitality, hospitals, sport coaching, construction.

2) Oracle HRMS Upgrade Project

In liaison with HR Shared Service Manager, assisting her on the Oracle HRMS Upgrade project for the 31 companies using the centralized system:

Data cleansing and upgrading in order to complete available information related to benefits, positions grading and employee’s personal information.

Defining the scope of the project in liaison with Department
Defining project plan and technical requirements - Ensuring complete documentation of the project.
Collecting missing data from 31 HR Companies (9800 employees) Data cleansing in liaison with 31 HR Departments in order to meet technical requirements and consistency of the data
Follow up of the different Project Phases in liaison with IT and HR Companies : data collection - Test Instance Upload - Test Upload Approvals - Live Instance Upload and Approvals ( 4 batches of companies)

3) Reporting

In charge of Ad’hoc HR reports: Overtime, Turn-Over, leaves etc..
In charge of collecting and centralizing HR Basic data from 10 companies not using Oracle.

4) Payroll
In charge of manual Payroll processing for 3 small companies (25 employees): attendance validation, leaves accruals records, Payroll calculations, SIF files generation and upload.

This company is a very well-known Insurance Broker in France, specialized in industrial and transport risks, present in France but also in Spain and Switzerland, and employing 650 people on 5 sites.

Reporting to the CEO, my main responsibilities were:
• Defining and implementing company's HR strategy, policies and procedures in alignment with the company's values and goals
• Establishing manpower plan, jobs descriptions, and leading recruitment process with all means to meet the company's staff needs (choice of the better recruitment strategy including recruitment agencies if necessary, sourcing - including search on recruitment portals, coordinating selection panel, interviews, appraisal, recommendation, negotiation of employment terms and conditions, arranging induction process)
• Setting and implementing the yearly training plan of the staff
• Developing compensation and benefits program - Designing and coordinating employees' annual performance evaluation process - Coordinating annual salary reviews -
• Conducting disciplinary procedures, and following disputes and trials initiated by former employees
• Ensuring compliance with French labor laws
• Supervising pay-roll and general HR administration team (4 people), maintaining employees records and contracts
• Liaising with finance team for payroll activities
• Establishing and maintaining close relationships with the Direction and managers to advise them on any HR subject in the day to day life of their team

My main achievements in this job include:
• Creation and development from scratch of an efficient and recognized HR
department - 1 person in 2002/5 people in 2012
• Accompanied the company's development from 300 employees in 2002 to 650 in 2012
• Achieved 140 recruitments per year (from administrative to top management)
• Securization of the pay-roll activities
• Implementation of annual performance evaluation process

Reason for leaving: Came to Abu Dhabi following my husband's relocation

• Crisis management, negotiation then implementation of a redundancy plan of 40 posts
• Management of the social cases further to the liquidation of the company
