As one of the ICU consultants, I have been responsible for leading the ward round twice every day as well as supervising and training junior doctors. I also attend the weekly MDT meetings, twice a month the consultant meeting and monthly quality and safety meetings. While on duty, I have been responsible for managing the unit capacity and solving troubleshooting to facilitate admissions and discharges and work in continuous collaboration with North West London critical care network. The outreach service is consultant lead where we make decisions on managing deteriorating patients on the wards and admitting those who need level 2/3 care. I have been the clinical and educational supervisors for three of the trainees (GMC recognized ES). I have been the clinical audit lead for Charing Cross Hospital ICU responsible for developing the plan for auditing the clinical service, designing quality improvement projects for the unit and implementing the necessary changes agreed. I have been supervising several audits and projects that have resulted in improving our clinical services over the two year course of employment. Echocardiography lead: as an expert in advanced echocardiography who has been dual trained in critical care and cardiology with more than 10000 independent echo studies and reporting, I have been the echo lead of the unit and the FICE mentor responsible for training all the junior doctors and supervising their FICE courses and logbooks.

The hospital is a busy acute hospital with a mix of acute medical and surgical cases, including arranging admissions, discharges, clinical transfers and multidisciplinary management in collaboration with different medical and surgical specialties. I have been ICS FICE mentor and the lead for Echocardiography cross-site responsible for echocardiography teaching and training of the trainees and non-trainee fellows and for the development of effective bed side echo reporting system, also encouraging and helping the medical staff to get their FICE training and accreditation. I have also been actively involved in clinical and educational supervision, teaching, training and clinical research. I have initiated a number of audits and launched a few QIPs emphasizing on getting the junior staff involved to help them build their leadership skills.
