Quantity Surveyor at KWEC Consultancy

  • My current job since May 2018

During my time in KWEC I have handled projects varying from Luxury Villas to High Rise Towers in both Pre & Post Contract activities. Since the projects handled are diversified in different states of UAE like Dubai, Sharjah, & Al Ain, I believe I am well experienced in Tendering Procedure with project estimation and preparation of contractual documents in light to the local authorities and local regulations of each states.

In precontract work activity; I have had the firsthand experience in Project planning with resource allocations using Project Management software like MS Project & Primavera. Further I had prepared BOQ for tendering purposes using Auto CAD 2019 as taking off platform in accordance to POMI. Before the project is awarded to the contractor I had analyzed and built up unit rates to price quantified BOQ and to reach project target costs to assist the client on the budget allocation. I am proud to state that I am in the KWEC’s Value Engineering Team which has made me good at developing a thorough knowledge on Feasibility Study and assessment of the practicality of a proposed project or system and come up with cost effective solutions. Further I had prepared and developed Tender Analysis Reports including Commercial and technical Evaluations based on the contractor submissions.

I was also responsible for assessing Contractor Claims such as evaluation of variations, EOT analysis, and interim payments for the running projects. In addition to that, I have also obtained hands on experience in preparation of Contractual Letters in alignment with the FIDIC 1999

Quantity Surveyor at P.P.T. Mohideen Associates
  • Sri Lanka - Colombo 3
  • July 2017 to February 2018

During my tenure in this organization I had played major role in preparing valuation reports of projects and buildings consisting hotels, commercial offices, residential apartments etc. For the most part of the work I would meet clients and contractors to discuss and determine the value of the buildings and projects in terms of building up unit rates for items in the BOQ. When a project needs to be evaluated before construction as a feasibility study, I would build up a BOQ based on the approved drawings and arrive at an estimated project cost. If a valuation is required after completion of a project or building, then I would cross verify the BOQ quantities with the actual site measurements and determine the project value. In addition to this as a Quantity Surveyor I had the responsibility of comparing differences between the actual project cost and the final project value. Attending meetings to ascertain and clarify the rate build up was also a core part of my job scope.
