Contributes to the development of departmental strategy so as to support the alignment of the strategic goals and objectives of IT with the overall business and stakeholders objectives.
Recommends improvements in the policies and procedures of the IT department and implements the functional policies, processes, procedures and provides instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner
Develops and implements the required processes to ensure gathering, analysing, storing and sharing knowledge and information of the unit’s services so that information can be retrieved readily as required with minimal delays
Prepares and recommends the budget of the function and monitor the financial performance against the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon
Supervises the day-to-day operations of the unit to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures
Analyses the business growth, the current IT infrastructure status and the IT development plans, so as to identify the requirements and provide recommendations to build and maintain a scalable and agile IT infrastructure able to deliver the required capacity and performance targets in a cost effective and timely manner
Defines and designs all related IT infrastructure aspects (hardware, network, server, storage, telephony, and database management) in order to facilitate the efficiency of operations
Monitors the infrastructure’s performance identifying and recommending improvements while ensuring timely and accurate proactive maintenance and response to technical issues
Ensure that the Service Level Agreements of the unit’s services as well as the associated Operational Level Agreements are appropriate, monitored and reported
- Follows all relevant IT Operations policies, processes, and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistentmanner.- Supervises the day-to-day operations of subordinates to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and in compliance with established standards and procedures.- Supervises the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of the IT operations unit activity is carried out in an efficient manner.- Studies various departments\ requirements and discusses needs with users to understand and clarify the requirements from the application system to bedeveloped.- Carries out system analysis and design (applications/infrastructure), delegating less complex tasks to team members as part of capability building and training.

- Prepares project plan and work program for the team, assigning tasks and responsibilities and monitoring the progress of the project.- Leads the process of system testing (applications/infrastructure) and ensures effective debugging to guarantee the smooth flow of systems in a timely manner.- Implements the application software and monitors the running of the system to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the system.- Provides the required training for the systems and applications deployed end users to ensure the proper utilization of the systems in line with their requirements and business objectives.- Develops service level reporting to stakeholders to ensure that management is up-to-date with any advancement.- Carries out adjustments or customization to the software in line with users’requirements.- Maintains and builds relationships with vendors and software providers to ensure that the most appropriate and efficient systems are used in Tadawulwith the optimum cost.
