Duties involve preventing any acts of violence against passengers, aircraft, crews and Airport
installations by hi-jack, sabotage or terrorism.
Other duties are to assist and ensure the safety of the travelling public and Airport employees, screening of passengers, their cabin and hold luggage, controlling access to Restricted and Controlled zones, guarding and searching aircraft, escort duties and responding to various emergencies in and around the airport.
Posted to Luton Police, as a front-line patrol officer responsible for upholding and maintaining law and order, protecting the safety and well-being of members of the public, their property, working within a team of officers providing a visible police presence, responding to local policing demands and providing equality of service to all whilst carrying out duties and responsibilities.
Other key duties involved responding to calls from the public, providing appropriate level of support and assistance, investigating actual and possible offences, dealing with persons suspected of offences in accordance with the law, completing files of evidence and other documentation for Prosecution.
Completing all tasks to the required standards, gathering information and intelligence, making full use of all intelligence systems and sources and developing knowledge of and contacts within the local community and its environment to assist police/community relations in resolving local
