Chief of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
Chief of WASH a.i from June 2022 to January 2023 (due to post vacancy) and during Chief's absence
Provides technical and managerial support to a large, complex and/or an integrated WASH programme, backstopping for the Chief of WASH during absences (R&R cycle: 4 weeks and 6 weeks)

Actually under System-wide Level 3 (L3) Response (Kassai and Eastern DRC): Coordination of WASH aspects including cholera response for IDP’s and host community
Accountable for the proper and timely management and monitoring of UNICEF Annual work plans (2016’s and 2017’s) as well as disbursement of funds for the WASH sector in DRC Eastern Zone (North Kivu, South Kivu, Ituri, Maniema, Haut Uele, Bas Uele, Tshopo)
Effective planning, implementation and monitoring of the WASH programmes in DRC Eastern Zone according to annual and 5 year work plan’s objectives and UNICEF internal procedures with a strong focus on cut-across sectors principles. Including the implementation of large scale national sanitation programme (Ecoles et Villages Assainis: 6093 villages and 1, 188 schools)
Leadership, effective planning, coordination and monitoring of emergency WASH programmes in DRC Eastern Zone (Cholera, Ebola, IDP'S) in North Kivu, South Kivu, Ituri, Maniema, Haut Uele, Bas Uele and Tshopo
Adequate technical advice support to water and sanitation programme management in DRC Eastern Zone (North Kivu, South Kivu, Ituri, Maniema, Haut Uele, Bas Uele, Tshopo)
Participation to the strategic wash planning and bottlenecks analysis discussions
Ensure adequate water and sanitation programe quality
Preparation and review of donor reports, Sitreps, Information notes, briefing materials for donors and high level management

1-Management and monitoring of the emergency and transitional infrastructure projects in Azraq camp. • Supervision of the borehole construction and equipment in Azraq camp • Coordination between all parties involved in the borehole station construction (UNICEF, US Civil Military Support Element CMSE, Water Authority of Jordan, Ministry of Health, Syrian Refugees Assistance Directorate, World Vision, UNHCR, Site Group construction enterprise) • Supervision of the waste water treatment plant (MBBR technology | Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor Process) construction in Azraq camp in coordination with UNHCR Site planning • Coordination between all parties involved in the WWTP construction (UNICEF, WAJ, MoH, SRAD, UNHCR, Al-Jaafar, EEC-USA) • Coordination and preparation of short term and long term waste water reuse plan within the WWTP project in Azraq camp. • Design of an upgraded water network with additional borehole and waste water network to improve water access and wastewater disposal at household level in Azraq camp.
2-Facilitation of the wash coordination mechanism in Azraq refugee camp: • Coordination and chairing of the Azraq camp WASH strategy group. Elaboration of WASH strategy draft in coordination with all stakeholders in Azraq camp • Coordination of the Contingency plan preparation for Azraq camp (winter storms, summer hot waves, Strikes and sudden refugees influx scenarios) • Preparation of the Azraq camp WASH minimum standards and frequently asked questions.
3-Support the implementation and the management of UNICEF WASH programmes in Azraq refugee camp and PCA management: • preparation of donor reports and SitReps
Senior WASH Technical advisory (water and waste projects in both host communities urban areas and refugees informal tented settlements)
Overall coordination and budget control of wash activities at national level in Lebanon
Supervision and capacity building of project managers on reporting under ActivityInfo, water quality monitoring, water networks design (expatriate staff and local staff)
