Internal Controls and Audit:
Review business processes and policies (finance, order to cash, purchase to pay, inventory and HR areas) identify gaps and report to Management. Document new policies and processes to address the identified gaps.
Lead the finance teams to complete Control Self Assessment requirement as per SOX 302 within the Region
Devise ME Delegation of authority schedule. Review and remediate all SOD's issues (physical and system) within the Region
Act as a Regional contact for Corporate Internal Audits. Prepare local teams for the audit. Ensure timely remediation of all the issues identified.
Export Control
Act as global focal point for pre-approving all sales into Iran, Syria and other ME embargoed countries from compliance standpoint
Define and implement procedure for ensuring no violations as regards US, EU and UK export controls requirement
Conduct periodic review of transactions to verify the compliances with internal and external regulations
Team-up with global export controls professional to share best practices and compliance procedures within Middle East
Compliances and training
Identify training needs within the Region, conduct classroom training on Anti Bribery and Export Control training for all employees
Co-ordinate and monitor completion of mandatory online Compliance training within the Region as per Global guidelines
Lead the Region as regards various compliances on Anti-Bribery/FCPA/Competition Law/Code of Conduct/Fraud awareness
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
Conduct periodic risk assessment workshops with Management team to identify & assess key finance, operations & business risk.
Ensure the identified risks are mitigated, transferred or assumed by having appropriate action plans in place.
Business Simplification (Shared Service and Major Projects):
Review finance and shared services business process to identify and remediate gaps to simplify the operations.
Integrate the current decentralised finance operations into the Shared Service environment
Develop the ME Shared Service training strategy and deploy the transformation project plans.
Develop, analyze, interpret and provide internal distribution of financial information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability and performance against budget and total contract value.
FCPA Compliance Support (Global and Regional):
Led the ME Regional Teams in designing the FCPA Compliance Program initiatives based on recommendations from US Department of Justice and BE Compliance Management Team
Conducted Integrity awareness workshops in all ME Countries and trained around 1000 employees on Compliance and Functional Policies, such as Finance, Procurement, HR and Sales.
Managed FCPA and UK Anti Bribery program and policy deployment in the Region to ensure successful execution of Compliance program.
Led Compliance Program Testing and Remediation by ensuring action plans are developed and executed in a timely manner.
Collaborated with Functional Leaders to ensure remediation plans are accurately recorded and in Compliance with Policy.
Audit and Investigation Support (Regional):
Completed a detailed business process and control documentation (SOP) for Refrigeration and Rental business
Significant involvement in planning, execution and completion of Financial Compliance and Balance Sheet reviews
Conducted Forensic investigations to evaluate fraudulent practices based on Management direction and hotline complaints
Global team member for designing worldwide P2P (Procurement to Pay) process for Johnson Controls.
