Our company is responsible for the Operation and Maintenance of the Qatar's water distribution and supply system. Our company infrastructure includes existing facilities need to be upgraded and new projects need to be executed. This infrastructure includes GE, ABB and Siemens PLC’s; also the infrastructure includes MCC’s, MDB’s, diesel generators and others, and the main duties are the following:
• Reviews existing system design related to electrical and instrumentation engineering and recommends improvements,
• Reviews and updates list of reference standards available in the department and raises requisitions for procurement,
• Reviews and raises requisitions for electrical and instrumentation technical journals,
• Assists his project team in preparation of tender documents,
• Reviews electrical and instrumentation designs and other matters referred by the project team during contract execution,
• Carries out actual verifications of sites wherein the proposed improvements and expansions will be executed,
• Participates in necessary technical meetings and prepares correspondence and minutes to various internal and external offices in order to ensure the realization of the proposed projects as scheduled,
• Participates in the design of new facilities that are assigned to the department,
• Prepares and reviews/comments on cost estimates for proposed projects,
• Assesses and recommends solutions to technical problems being sought by the department,
• Assists in the development of planning & design procedures,
• Participates in the monitoring of projects to ensure construction is consistent with the design,
• Reviews and updates planning & design procedures as required,
• Reviews and comments on design and studies made by consultants or other concerned authorities,
• Manages major projects and advises on deficiencies during construction stages,
• Evaluates information/data from government entities on the condition of existing infrastructure necessary for preparation of drawing,
• Performs other related duties as needed upon request by the immediate supervisor,
• Attends factory acceptance tests,
• Attends and witnesses material production test and inspection at manufacturers,
• Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9002 certification,
• And carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Design Engineering Section are in-line with the company health and safety regulations.
DISI project infrastructure includes Allen Bradly, Siemens PLC’s; also the infrastructure includes FactoryTalk RSLogix 5000, FT View SE, FT View ME & Panel View, FT Historian Site Edition, FT VantagePoint, FT AssetCentre SCADA Software’s. the project also includes E+H instruments like pressure, temperature, electromagnetic Flow meter, hydrostatic and ultrasonic Level meter, AUMA valves, hirschmann switches, time servers and network management servers, and the main duties are the following:
• Develop skills in specific control disciplines such as advanced process control (APC), distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA). The use of these disciplines will depend on the exact nature of individual job roles.
• Install, Program, Configure, Administrate, and Publish SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) Software's.
• SCADA Application administration including relational database development, graphics design, historical data collection, alarm system implementation. This responsibility also involves commissioning and periodic testing or functional validation.
• Reports and maintains SCADA system history by back-up of all SCADA, data quarterly.
• Designs and implements reports derived from SCADA System database.
• Designing and developing new control systems;
• Testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems;
• Analyzing data and presenting findings in written reports;
• Telecommunication network support including determination of functionality and connectivity. Networks are LAN/WAN based, satellite, multiple address systems (MAS) and spread spectrum systems.
• Program PLC's (Programmable Logic Controller) & DCS's to Control Hardware.
• PLC and DCS Systems Monitoring and fault Analysis.
• PLC and DCS Systems Maintenance.
• Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
• Create a Technical RFP’s for some sub-contracts.
• Repair, install, maintain, and inspect instrumentation equipment’s, include chemical & water quality analyzers.
• Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of instruments, devices, and systems.
• Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunction.
• Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections, and equipment repairs and failures.
• Assist with and evaluate third-party repairs.
• Provide technical assistance and instructions to personnel regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
• Field Instruments as Maintenance and calibration (Motorized Control Valves, Pressure Transmitters and switches, Level transmitters and sensor and display unit…).
• Pre-commissioning and commissioning for DCS control system in water plants.
• Instrument drawings, data sheets, I/O wiring diagrams, P&IDs, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs.
• Coordinate, maintain, improve and develop documentation and procedures for items such as instrument cryogenic procedures, instrument configuration changes and checkout, common instrument troubleshooting procedures, instrument preventive maintenance procedures, and instrument spare parts inventory to assure appropriate documentation is maintained and available when needed.
• Coordinate maintenance and improvement of instrument support facilities at the summit, including summit instrument laboratory, instrument spare parts stores to assure these facilities properly support instrumentation needs.
• CMMS systems administration and ability to scheduling the preventive maintenance for the system.
• Build, maintain, and repair computer systems to improve speed, reliability, and efficiency of operation.
• Assist customers with hardware and software problems, troubleshooting and resolving a wide variety of performance Problems.
• Software installation, configuration and trouble shootings of Windows Operating System on client desktop, laptops and printers, Installation of various application software on client machines.
• Programming & Controlling the hardware that connecting to computer system, Network Configuration Hardware & Software, Network Cabling and All other Cabling (VGA, Serial, CAT5, and other).
• Managing and maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 & 2008 Environment, software installation, configuration and trouble shootings of Windows Operating System on servers.
• Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 & 2008 Network Infrastructure (Network Services and Hosts).

Miyahuna infrastructure includes Siemens, Allen Bradly, Schneider PLC’s; also the infrastructure includes WinCC, Telvent OAsysdna, and Monitor Pro SCADA Software’s and the main duties are the following:
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of SCADA systems servers, workstations, networks, PC equipment, printers and related equipment including security requirements.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve PCs, servers, telemetry equipment and other computer-related equipment problems to ensure functional operation.
• Analyze and define software, database, graphic display and external system interface requirements adhering to Water Authority Information Technology standards.
• Perform back-up procedures for assigned PC files. Coordinate restoration and retrieval of files as needed. Maintain all files in an accurate and efficient manner.
• Download data from disks and tapes to various computer systems/platforms.
• Coordinate and install cards, drives, tapes, memory, peripheral equipment and software into stand-alone or network connected PCs at client work locations.
• Verify hardware and software purchase requests for assigned area. Comply with Water Authority standards.
• Conduct studies pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs.
• Study existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develop specifications for new systems or prototype systems to improve production or workflow as required.
• Prepare SOP’s & workflow charts and diagrams to specify, in detail, operations to be performed by equipment and computer programs and operations to be performed by personnel in system.
• Upgrade computer application system software and troubleshoot errors to maintain system after implementation.
• Perform system administration duties including setting up and monitoring server back-up processes, adding new users, modifying user/group profiles, and monitoring and tuning server and system resources.
• Evaluate, install, test, and implement new servers, server operating systems and application software packages. Install new versions, releases or maintenance levels of existing server operating systems and related components.
• Coordinate and conduct user training, education and problem solving sessions. Counsel users regarding system functionality. Respond to user complaints and inquiries.
• Maintain network components, including routers, bridges, hubs, multiplexors and smart switches.
• Perform preventive maintenance to preclude major network outages or degradation to customer service.
• Develop, customize, test and implement multi-user, server-based application software systems.
• Serve as lead over all aspects of assigned applications development and software implementation projects. Evaluate and assess client needs. Identify and allocate resources including staff, equipment and materials. Set task priorities.

• Develop request for proposals (RFPs). Negotiate and manage vendor contract for information technology services.
• Represent assigned area at Technical Review Committee and Information Service Committee meetings for computer-related purchase approvals.
• Program, test and implement system and user interfaces to existing and new application systems.
JUST infrastructure includes Microsoft Active Directory Servers, Mail Servers, Citrix Servers, Antivirus Servers System, Workstations; also the infrastructure includes CCTV system & Management Software’s and the main duties are the following:
• Manage Servers & applications.
• Backup & restore servers.
• Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications;
• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
• Talking staff or clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues;
• Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults;
• Replacing parts as required;
• Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
• Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
• Supporting the roll-out of new applications;
• Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
• Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs;
• Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate);
• Prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time;
• Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, e.g., software developers;
