aa● Responsible for the reviewing of prescriptions for appropriateness of therapy to determine ingredients needed and to ensure correct dosage.
● Responsible for inventories, orders/maintains supply of drugs, chemicals & other pharmaceutical stock.
● Responsible for the advising patients and care providers of potential drug interactions, possible side effects, storage information, and instructions to use medications.
● Responsible for the performance of packaging, labeling, measuring, compounding, storing, charging, and recording medications used in the patient care.
● Responsible for Dispensing of medicines following the prescriptions issued by authorized medical practitioner.
● Responsible for the preparation of unit dose and IV admixture in aseptic condition & standard protocols.
• Responsible for supervising, hiring & training of Drug Information Expert staff; planning, assigning and directing work; maintaining operational guidelines and procedures for work, appraising performance, rewarding & disciplining of employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Responsible for maintaining proper storage of drugs and medical supplies and equipment as per standard guidelines, maintaining record of the receiving reports and delivery notes, ensuring a high standard of product knowledge through on the job training and familiarization with the protocol.
• Participation in drug research & experimentation programs & related public information activities and to assume responsibility for the operation of a facility pharmacy.
• Give lectures to practitioners, physicians, nursing staff, and other medical staff on pharmacy & therapeutics.
• Fill prescriptions and prepare official drugs and standard medications & to recognize therapeutic incompatibilities, with thorough knowledge of the calculation of doses and preparation/use of percentage & stock solutions and knowledge of narcotics & poisons.
• Provide pharmacotherapy expertise in the development of the clinical intent for medication coverage policies for drugs in both the prescription and medical benefits.
• Assist clinicians to establish protocols, storage, distribution, & administration procedures for investigational drugs.
• Responsible for training & supervising Pharmacy Assistants and Serves as a preceptor for pharmacy interns.
• Assessing drug-related problems, development/implementation of care plans, measuring outcomes and performance of clinical & distributive duties related to pharmaceutical care in healthcare centre.
