Working with the customer “King Abdullah University of Science & Technology” as Core Network Engineer and my responsibilities are:
• Responsible for introducing new services to KAUST Network.
• Design and implement all Core Network services within KAUST network.
• Deployed new Core Lab functionalities allowing Lab material reservation based on BADGER booking system.
• Develop or recommend network security measures, such as firewalls, network security audits, or automated security probs.
• Prepare detailed network specifications, including diagrams, chart, equipment configurations, and recommended technologies.
• Prepare complete Project Plan for the smooth execution of Projects in order to facilitate end user.
• Prepare Project Charter, High Level Design (HLD), Low Level Design (LLD) in each phases of Project as per plan.
• Evaluate network design to determine whether customer requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
Working as Deputy Manager of Central Zone (Solution Provisioning & Engineering) and my responsibilities are:
•Responsible for the deployment and configuration of BGP, OSPF and MPLS in the core network on CISCO 7200, 3800, 3600 series routers and Juniper ERX1440, M10i and M7i routers.
•Responsible of coordination with uplink provider for BGP configurations, maintenance and topology changes.
•Settings of the networking devices (Cisco Router, switches) co-coordinating with the system/Network administrator during implementation.
•Responsible of maintenance of Core Routers, L2/L3 MPLS VPN & MPLS TE configurations across the network for optimal operations and optimizations.
•Provide Support and Maintenance to Network Operations Team for core network problems regarding BGP, IGP (OSPF) & MPLS.
•Provide technical consultancy to presales team regarding complex MPLS solutions.
•Participate in technical meetings to discuss complex solutions requirements before signing the contract and to set up the implementation plan.
•Follow up & coordinate with concerned department in the installation process NOC, FE, P&C, Procurement & finance.
•Act as second line in troubleshooting enterprise technical problems.
•Manage SPE engineers' team in executing the technicalities of the installation process.
•Coordination and guidance to FE engineers, RF Engineers in executing the technicalities of the installation process.
•Deployment of country-wide Private Data Networks over DSL, Microwave, Wireless P2P & P2MP, WiMAX, Metro Fiber, Vendor Fiber and configuration for corporate customers.
•Set up the configurations for OSPF, BGP or any other Routing Protocol as per client’s requirement.
•Prepare and apply lab tests for new features to make sure that it is working before going to the customer.
•Documentation and change control
•Worked on troubleshooting of complex LAN/WAN infrastructure.
•Implementing and maintaining backup and DR environment of different enterprise customers.
